I played both ME1 and ME2 and thought it was just fine.

March 6?! Damn, I need to step up my gaming time so I can wrap up Skyrim and Batman: Arkham City.

"Those of us who played Mass Effect 2 did not like how linear and restricted it was"???
what game were these dicks playing? the majority of the gaming press gave it game-of-the-year...

Well being a bit of a corridor shooter and being game of the year isn't mutually exclusive :). While the combat isn't a strong point of the Mass Effect series, the customisable story, characterisation, music and high quality voice-acting is where its strengths lie.

Since being acquired by EA, nothing Bioware claims can be taken at face value. Because they claim one thing then typically do the exact opposite. So do not blindly trust that Mike Gamble or the gaming press has told you the truth about Mass Effect 3. Based on the multiple claims made by EA and Bioware thus far, ME 3 may be a balanced action-RPG or it could turn out to be Army of Two goes to space. My advice is if Bioware posts a demo on 2/14 as promised, download it and decide for yourself. Just don't buy it sight unseen as many of us made the mistake of doing with Mass Effect 2 in the absence of a demo.
