if they wanted to sell more PC games they should stock more than 4 at a time, 3 of them being Sims expansions and the other being WoW

I wont buy pc games from a store that the only pc game they really sell anymore is world of warcraft. Steam was here all these years as gamestop and all the other companies stopped selling pc games. So why would i leave them now.

You have it twisted. Steam needs the competition. They are getting to be a monopoly on digital-downloaded games, and they have begun to raise prices, bully publishers into taking less money or have their games stricken from Steam, and other big-corporation tactics that is slowly turning them into the type of company that is all about profits and nothing about serving it's customers.

I say bring on Origin and GameStop and Direct2Drive (which is a pretty sweet service) and anything else that promotes innovation and competition. Keep Steam in it's place.

i mean i will agree with you about competition but it will also fragment the social features of each service. You buy from origin i buy from steam we get no social features to connect to each other. We either use aim to figure out a server to play on, or we stumble upon each other in a game by mistake. Im just saying a single company offering the services has a advantage. Something like xbox live.
