I like Stephen Merchant anyway, so that helps. It's hard to say exactly what sort of voice would actually "work" for Wheatley though. It's potentially quite a brave thing they've tried to do, to impose human characteristics on an extremely non-human device, so you don't have the normal visual cues and whatnot that would normally make a voice "work" in a human companion. e.g. Alyx seems extremely human, but can you imagine if, say, Dog was given that voice? Now that'd be weird.
Time will tell, I guess.

Could be either. The lighting and shadows made me drool. Even all the animation looked amazingly polished.
Honestly, I thought my game was looking pretty bad ass, having implemented lots of the latest high-end effects... but goddamnit now I need to figure out what they've done to make this look so great.

Source Engine 2010 is the name of it.
Valve periodically updates the Source Engine. Half-Life 2 used the first version of Source; Episode One used the next iteration; Portal, TF2, and Ep. 2 used The Orange Box Engine/Source Engine 2007; Left 4 Dead used the L4D branch of the Source engine; and so on. Each iteration improved upon the previous, adding new features like multi-core rendering, HDR, higher resolution textures, motion blur, dynamic shadows, etc.
