HL2+Episodes is vaguely similar to the Metroid Prime games, since both are more "First Person Adventures" than "First Person Shooters," so people who don't realize there is more to the Metroid series than the Prime games might be confused enough to compare the two.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I just purchased a copy of the Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii. Since I never owned or played the three games released on the Game Cube. I bought a Wii for the same reason I bought a Game Cube, Zelda. Games like RE4 and the Sonic & Megaman Collections were a nice bonus.

Yeah I'm finding the collections especially both Sonics & Megaman make the GC/Wii well worth the purchase. Now if only they would do a large scale one with Mario & Zelda.

Zelda Collectors Edition for GCN has all of the console games up to Majora's Mask included, but I think one of the N64 games is poorly emulated. If it was OoT, there are still other options to play it, the best version being the enhanced port for GCN (Master Quest version).
You might be just as well off getting the games off the virtual console though, since Zelda Collector's Edition can be expensive.
No option for Mario, but IIRC Nintendo did trademark a Mario collection a while back. Doesn't necessarily mean anything though.

I think with a game like this it doesn't matter too much... After a few minutes, if not a few seconds, you'll forget that it's in SD, not HD.

The Wii can output in 480p, the Wii "HD" cable is cheap at monoprice. For Wii games it's worth the few extra bucks.

Great, thanks Nintendo! Finally a game for the Wii I actually want to buy. Just a year too late. After beating Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy I got fed up with your crappy console and waiting for some good titles about a year ago. Sold it and put the money towards a PS3. You're half right. I played the first one, had a lot of fun with it. I also played through MadWorld which was very fun, despite being kinda repetitive. Not saying there were NO good game for the Wii. Just not enough to justify it sitting on my shelf barely getting used. I held on to it for a while but got tired of waiting. So I decided to go with PS3. Now I have a BluRay player, better exclusive titles (imo), a media center, and something to stream my netflix to ( Does Wii have that now? or are they getting it soon?) Had some hands on with Other M for 20 minutes at E3 and it played and looked great. The switching from the "Metroid Prime FPS" mode to the pseudo 3D by turning the controller was a little bizarre at first, but it was the first time a game has really taken advantage of the "First Person point of view" button besides just looking around.

E3 2010 Hands-On First Impressions from my friend who is not a big Metroid fan:
Not being a huge fan of the Metroid series, I would normally not be very excited about a new title. Nonetheless, Other M has blown me away. I really enjoyed my hands-on at E3. The game is fast-paced and very fun. The level I played through included one stage and a boss. The difficulty was not too bad, but I can tell already that it will ramp up as the game progresses. The controls felt great, as the Wii Remote held sideways was enough. You jump with one button, shoot with the other, and control Samus with the control pad. The A and B buttons have different functions, too, but it is rather simple and easy to pick up and play. Samus will somewhat auto-aim for you when side-scrolling, but this was not a problem for me and did not make the game easier. You still had to be facing or pointing in basically the right direction. It did not automatically shoot every enemy no matter where you looked. When pointed at the screen, you go into a first-person mode. The only complaints I had with this is that you cannot move around, which I desperately wanted to do. Instead, I had to go back to 2D mode, turn, and then point at the screen again. I guess this only makes the difficulty higher, but it is annoying at first. Also, I would have rather had my B button shooting missiles and A to scan, but perhaps the full game will provide a controller configuration in the setup menu. Some parts of stages even had you take a 3rd-person view behind Samus’ back, which was a great third view for the game. Combining fast-paced action with interesting puzzle elements and fun gameplay, I believe Metroid: Other M will be a great title. Better yet, it will be available in just over a month.
