Mario and Time Travel seems like a match made in heaven. I wish Nintendo would take the concept and execute it the way it was meant to be, non-educational. So much potential wasted.

Okay, I have to chime in here! Video games taught me a lot. I learned a lot about reading while playing FF7. I learned problem solving skills with Abe's Exodus, and well, any other game. I also learned how to manage my time, ammo, and saves via Resident Evil.
If you play war games you'll learn about history. If you play RPGs your reading skill will go up. My bother in law got the highest grade in school because of reading in RPGs. You don't need these crappy educational games to learn something from gaming.
Personalty I think you get much more educational value from actively completing a goal vs. watching t.v. Your mind is much more active while gaming. That's my two cents!
