Dugg for the seemingly random cameo by Milton Berle, in both tux & drag (best hair of the bunch). Great tune, too.
cb810Jan 30, 2011
If I remember correctly, Uncle Milty was related to the band's manager...
conservative_zombieJan 30, 2011
Uncle is correct
anomaly100Jan 30, 2011
I remember them. Didn't Madonna go out with the singer?
subatomicdocJan 30, 2011
Can I get that on RockBand3?
dxprogJan 30, 2011
You can if you have Rock Band 2 and $10
screamingmangoJan 30, 2011
Hey! I remember! I remember nasty looks when I played their tape on one of my class during high school.
chaos7Jan 30, 2011
still love this song
dj88masterchiefJan 30, 2011
Why is this on the front page? It's been around since before I was born! How is this news now?
rockergirlieJan 30, 2011
I agree. Someone probably got drunk/high while playing Rock Band, and thought to themselves, "Oh my God, everyone else needs to be inside my head right now. Ratt is the best band EVER! *digg*"Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
cubs0110Jan 30, 2011
So this is what digg is for, posting semi-old songs that you haven't thought about in a while?
jefftsJan 30, 2011
Ah, good ol' 80s metal. \m/
gregdbowenJan 30, 2011

what is better than remembering hair metal like this is remembering the demise of it. Basically after Nirvana, Pearl Jam and STP these guys(hair metal bands) couldn't fill up even the smallest clubs. Basically these bands were ignored into retirement around 1991 or 1992. By 1995 hair bands were almost as big of a joke as disco had become to them.
The rest is history, even metal greats who had didn't don makeup and tights and the contents of half a dozen cans of hairspray... cut their hair and recorded "Load".
djrobxJan 30, 2011
Very true.
What's more interesting still is the lack of the lack of clear musical trends that followed grunge. When I think of 60s, 70s, and 80's music, there's lots iconic songs that define the time periods (this is a good example). STP, Nirvana and other Seattle bands might typify the very early 90s, but past that, the latter half of the 90s, and the entire 2000's decade just seems to be a big melting pot with a heavier dose of rap and hip hop.
Perhaps more choices in music (internet radio, satellite radio, digital downloads) are allowing people to stay within the niches they like. If you like modern day disco (dance music), you can find it regardless of whether it's mainstream or not. I also noticed that a lot of young kids will listen to a bigger variety of music spanning different decades. There also seems to be less of a generation gap between what younger parents and their teenagers will listen to.
satanicpengiunsJan 30, 2011
Well... They wouldn't have lasted much longer, It was time for a change. happens with all music. Except rap because it just skews its form to appeal to whatever 15 year olds want.
I think its funny how people act like hair metal is an embarrasment, and theres plenty of new hair metal bands that are making better music than most stuff out, Even the parody hair metal band steel panther is better than most real music.
Btw, I have the album this song is on loaded up on my ipod, along with the better ratt song "lay it down"
goatmonkey2112Jan 30, 2011
When I was about 12 I liked Ratt. They were always kind of a second tier favorite though. I was more into Van Halen, The Scorpions, Metallica, Judas Priest, Rush, Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin. That's much less embarrassing to say than some kid growing up today as a fan of Justin Bieber.
The thing you guys have to remember is that in every decade about 99.9% of all music is crap. You just have to accept it, because sometimes you realize that some of the catchy fun songs that you enjoy are really technically crappy songs.
A lot of it has to do with what you were doing when you heard that song. For example, if you were getting laid for the first time and Ratt was playing on the radio, you might irrationally elevate how much you like that song.

What goes around comes around, I guess...
super90Jan 30, 2011
Yeah. I remember it. It it sucked the first time around and it still sucks now.
mstrdiggJan 30, 2011
I miss music videos.
410mediaJan 30, 2011
I delivered pizza back in the day and delivered to them on their tour bus. The lead singer got mad and kicked me off because I saw him up to some extra curricular activities in the back of the bus.
fuckingusernameJan 30, 2011
the 80's when music didn't suck!
usarugulaJan 30, 2011
You're thinking of the 60s, early 70s and 90s.
conservative_zombieJan 30, 2011
The early 80s were an awesome time for music
usarugulaJan 30, 2011
Give me a few of your favorites.

I appreciate music from all of these decades, but the 80's had The Police, Madonna, Depeche Mode, b-52's, Cyndi Lauper, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Howard Jones, Eurythmics...
There's plenty to like about the 80's.
conservative_zombieJan 31, 2011

BECAUSE of this thread I turned on my 80's music cable station!
Come on Eileen.
Safety dance.
Actually, rap had its inception in the 80's.
But I giggle because I have RECORDS. I have Synchronicity and Voices Carry.
jefftsJan 30, 2011
And lets not forget about Guns 'N' Roses, Metallica, Megadeth, AC/DC, Motely Crue, Skid Row, Van Halen, The Ramones, The Misfits... Granted, some of these bands started in the late 70's but their popularity was on the rise in the 80s

I so sorry....
I wasn't a metalhead...in case you couldn't tell...but Sweet Child of Mine is one of the best songs EVER!
jefftsJan 30, 2011
Sweet Child of Mine is a great song. Although, when it first came out, I was in middle school and really didn't like it. I still remember a friend claiming that I wasn't a real G'N'R fan at the time even though I did like Paradise City and Welcome to the Jungle. Funny thing is, a few years later, that same friend switched to, and still listens to, just rap.
