My spade broke! I must of hit a buried corporation.
larphAug 30, 2010
I just want to see if Digg will do anything or just ignore their userbase.
inactiveuserAug 30, 2010
I think they are so busy editing the front page (censoring...cough) they will not notice the revolt until the front page is all "Hey you wanna credit card with fly buys?"
mmelnickAug 30, 2010
I do not like the new digg. Bring back the old digg.
juankovoAug 30, 2010

At least now some things are returning to normal, perhaps in a bit we will be linking directly to articles stolen from reddit as compared to reddits links to the article

So, will Digg users still trust Digg after this? They sold out and sent a big f**k you to their userbase. Why come back even if old Digg comes back?
inactiveuserAug 30, 2010
After using reddit why would you want to?
There are more skins than just diggs colour theme if you don't like the default!
Reddit is deep man, I am still in awe of its deepness...

reddit isn't actually as bad as I thought it was, it looked like a confusing mess beforehand but now it's better than this garbage

Redditor here. I created a Digg account just to digg this. Glad to see you guys are revolting against a s**tty situation. Keep fighting the good fight against your corporate overlords.

So, Reddit is dominating the Digg frontpage, and vice versa to a lesser extent. The circle (jerk) is complete.
pimnlAug 30, 2010
First visit I don't see comments..
Then I refresh and get the error "User not found"..
brosephskiAug 30, 2010
This is truly the most beautiful thing to ever happen in the history of Digg. In Digg's early years, it was a bastion of personality and freedom of speech. However, the site that once stood up for our rights when the AACS encryption key was cracked is now trying to sell its soul to the same types of corporations it used to fight against. The end result is an experience focused on advertising and monetary gain; something heartless and greedy, and something the end-user wants nothing of.
Reddit is our last bastion of truth. It is our new home. Let Digg burn, and with it everything it now stands for.
ooxmanAug 30, 2010
Anybody else suddenly find out that reddit is awesome?
blhnexAug 30, 2010
I have my friend.
Been a loyal Digg user since 2005 and have never once thought of leaving, until now.
Reddit full speed ahead.
curunirAug 31, 2010
Yes.
scy1192Aug 30, 2010
Once this reaches FP, it should be submitted to Reddit.
smegerAug 30, 2010
I think the old sages have warned us of this before. I think this is how black internet holes are made. You dont understand the power you are playing with!!! (no, really, lets do this)
lukelephantAug 30, 2010
Later Digg.
stoutmasterflexAug 31, 2010
Upgoat for Reddit. Suck my balls, Kevin Rose
curunirAug 31, 2010
Goodbye, Digg. This will be my last post.
I'm one of the old-timers, been on the Internet since it was newsgroups and gopher and you dialed in with a 2400 baud modem and it was restricted to "research and incidental personal use". Then came NCSA Mosaic and the web, and CIX, and everything changed.
It was good. I *like* change. When Usenet disappeared from most of the ISPs it was *not* good because I was still using it. But mostly I've seen progress and improvements and better ways of communicating and sharing. I was an early adapter at Slashdot (well, not *real* early - my uid is 5 digits ;) ), and I landed on Digg at some point not because they were better (in fact the comment moderation system was always *horrible* in comparison), but because it was more variety, more users, more stories, and the stories were added without a "gatekeeper" editor like Slashdot always had.
At Digg I made friends, I enjoyed the community, and even the people I had heated, vociferous arguments with were valued for their passion, if not their wisdom.
This change is not good, I am unhappy, and I have decided to leave. The time I have spent here on Digg I will now spend mostly on Reddit and back at Slashdot. I hope I will meet some of my old Digg friends (and rivals) on other corners of the Internet.
Goodbye - it was fun while it lasted.
