It will be interesting to see if this can actually deliver for the consumer market.
My oldest spends hours making YouTube videos of various games, like CoD. So this is something I'm sure he'd appreciate.

I agree with you if this can actually deliver for the consumer market.
The avatar was a great movie. Using Nintendo Wii on avatar maybe Cool. I am looking forward if that works.
I am watching Avatar through ITV Player. :-)

FTA: "In the classroom and lecture theatre, having this level of control for such a small price would allow some things which just aren’t possible – performing virtual operations live on screen, flying through the inside of an engine – in any school and any university.”
What a great advancement that would be!

The technology seems like a perfect fit for current and future gaming systems, especially with the release of Kinect. It's somewhat mind-boggling to think how far we have come in terms of processing power to be able to do something like this in real time.

I don't see a great advancement or even what the heck this has to do with Avatar.
They took two motion controllers and wrote some software that lets you move around in a little 3D room with them. Games already let you do that.

I agree what the hell is the big advancement here?
Controlling a camera with motion controller has been done.
The only thing their doing different is allowing things like "dollying" "zooming" etc.
The only reason these thing are limited now in games, because in real world game application you have to control things like firing guns, accessing menus/inventories etc...
I could see this applying to film making, but this is really just an update more efficient way of doing what Cameron was doing in Avatar.
Great presentation and all but the content itself is lacking.
