Am I the only one who thinks this show sucks?
rblancarteAug 2, 2011
Nope. The premise never was too hot for me either.
beinssAug 2, 2011
I dont understand why people watch that show.
ridgerunner5Aug 2, 2011
I'll join the ranks of this group.
tomt127Aug 2, 2011
I liked it at first but it got old really fast.
MauryDAug 2, 2011
I sure hope not ellitoys.
This show lowered the bar for entertainment.
The_SovereignAug 2, 2011
It had just about the most obnoxious lineup on TV. The fat housekeeper was a total bitch. The gay-acting brother didn't bring much to the table. The kid was obviously just a kid, so I won't be mean, but c'mon.
mattfugitiveAug 3, 2011
I watch the show when there was nothing else on TV (usually syndicated late) but I just can't get through a full episode.
"MEN!"
And there's a specific reason why...
"MEN!"
Every time another scene pops up....
"MEN!"
They play that damn MEN jingle!!
"MEN!"
dwhsAug 3, 2011
I loved the show, but can't imagine it without Charley
trdrstvAug 2, 2011
If I were the writers I would poke some fun at him in the eulogy.
"Charlie Harper died last week when his car barreled into a zoo with the speed of an F-18, there was Tiger Blood everywhere. He will be missed most of all by his family, whom he loved violently."
ridgerunner5Aug 2, 2011
I say what needs to happen is his new girlfriend drags him to a museum display, whereupon an earthquake hits and Charlie is killed by a statue of Adonis falling on him.
trdrstvAug 2, 2011
you could have a statue of Adonis behind the casket.
tomt127Aug 2, 2011
His coffin should have "Winning" written on it.
trdrstvAug 2, 2011
I'd frame the casket with 2 trophies that say "winning" so you could say he was Bi-winning "He wins over here and over there."
MauryDAug 2, 2011
You could have coke on his nose, and a couple of his drug dealers show up at the funeral. Turns out Charlie owed everybody in town and lived a double life.
The drug dealers are actually nice guys, although dressed like pimps...because they are, and get the older brother alone on the side side and say "you know I just feel bad about this, but I'm going to have to ask you to cover your brothers account with us". Then get a really funny dialogue going about what kind of account and who this guy is and how Sheen lived a double life. Could be hilarious. He would owe for coke, meth, crack, and prostitution services. Have a line in there where the drug dealer awkwardly shares that Charlie used to...err... "work off" his debt with the gay dealer and would the brother be interested in the same deal?
Then Ashton could come to the rescue somehow.
Oh man, I don't know about you, but I think that would be funny.
jimv1983Aug 3, 2011
And a plate of chicken nuggets.
MauryDAug 2, 2011
Lol. That would be great trdrstv.
sarahsalinasAug 2, 2011
it'll never be the same without charlie :/
rabbitsinblackAug 2, 2011
When is the Funeral for Two and a Half Men?
stubearAug 2, 2011
Charlie Sheen will have the last laugh when this show tanks without him. He might be an utter douche bag i real life but his character on the show is what made it worth watching.
dualaudiAug 2, 2011
I think the stupid brother and accompanying characters is what makes this show. The character of Sheen is a good touch, could be better though..
macparrotAug 2, 2011
Since he gets residuals, how would the show tanking make him laugh? I mean unless he actually was a giant narcissistic douchebag...oh wait.
Closed AccountAug 2, 2011
What hte f**k are you talking about? Do you have ANY idea how TV works? Charlie Sheen is not an executive Producer of the show. He does not own any piece of it. He gets residuals on shows that HE was on. His participation in the show is over, both in terms of acting, and in earning money. If the show gets a 50 Nielsen rating for the next 5 seasons, Charlie Sheen doesn't see a dime.He gets residuals for the previous seasons.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
macparrotAug 2, 2011
Calm down Francis. Do YOU know how TV works? Many times if a show is popular the big names can get back end money beyond acting. Look at Friends or Seinfeld both of which had actors receiving monies past their base salaries.
Neither you nor I have any idea what kind of deal or contract Sheen had in regards to the show and it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that he had some points built into his contract (whether or not that would still be valid after getting fired is something lawyers can figure out later) that could go on beyond his participation.
dundasbroAug 3, 2011
Michael J. Fox clause dude, Charlie is going to be laughing no matter what.
slizzoAug 3, 2011
Syndication my friend. Syndication.
MauryDAug 2, 2011
Lol.
MauryDAug 2, 2011
I hope they do well without him and set an example.
goweigusAug 3, 2011
what has he done to harm others enough to warrant 'utter douche bag i real life"
ringey144Aug 3, 2011
Selfish behavior with a disregard for others. Drug abuse and prostitutes in his home with his children living there, abused his ex-wife, had a restraining order against him, police had to remove his children from his custody, and a hundred people who work for the show would be out of a job if it were canceled because of his irresponsible actions. I think "utter douchebag" is a pretty good start.
protogenxlAug 2, 2011
Unless Uncle Ron Burgundy is moving in, the show will not last the season.
MauryDAug 2, 2011
Possibly, but all of the attention the show is getting right now will give it a fair shot at least. IF Ashton is written in well, and the story is funny.
Lots of people are going to watch the first show out of morbid curiosity. So the producers have a shot to entertain millions of American viewers. If they get it right, who knows, maybe the show gets a second life.
Zdrummer15Aug 2, 2011
I thought the same thing when I first heard Steve Carell was leaving The Office. Then, they actually got Will Ferrell to take over (even if only for a few episodes) and it still didn't do it for me.
fearmejackoAug 2, 2011
F chuck "libewits" lorre and his high horse. Hope show gets cancelled, and Anger Management blasts the ratings.
macparrotAug 2, 2011
And thank YOU for bringing politics into a discussion thread that has nothing whatsoever to do with it. It's SO important that these things get thrown in when common sense might dictate that this is about a whackjob actor who couldn't grasp that this was easy money and self destructed. Yes I'm sure Lorre's liberal leanings had much to do with it.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
fearmejackoAug 2, 2011
What are you talking about, my comment has nothing to do with politics. Somebody has confirmation bias.
jimv1983Aug 3, 2011
Chuck Lorre didn't do anything wrong. It was Charlie Sheen that was acting like a total nut job.
fearmejackoAug 3, 2011
I do agree with you. I just remember platoon, and major league and want cs to get better and succeed, instead of some exec that got rich off of him.
jimv1983Aug 6, 2011
He was getting rich off of it too and he screwed it up. He was extremely disrespectful to Chuck Lorre. He would have called Chuck Lorre a coward if he didn't fire Sheen. Lorre still has Big Bang Theory and the possibly of keeping Two and a Half Men strong as well. He shouldn't have to put up with Sheen and his tiger blood.
macparrotAug 2, 2011
Whether the show makes it or not, Lorre was right in dumping Sheen. He was a train wreck that would have brought down the show anyway as he did last season. Here's a guy who's history involves behavior that would have landed him in jail if he was just an ordinary person and I can't understand why anyone would stick up for him. Millions of dollars in salary to basically walk through a 1/2-hour sitcom each week with beautiful women hanging on his every word and sleeping with him not because he's a great guy, but because he's Charlie Sheen.
And yes if I sound jealous it's probably because I am because who wouldn't be envious of someone who's had this great life and all the opportunities just because he's another actor's son.
charlotte_webAug 2, 2011
The show worked because the whole concept was a tongue-in-cheek jab at Charlie Sheen's real life. Watching Charlie Harper screw up week after week with his addictions was like being in on the inside joke.
How they are going to recapture that with Ashton I have no idea.
macparrotAug 2, 2011
At this point do they even have to try? Many of the shows over the last few seasons revolved around not Charlie but Alan trying to put the pieces together of his pathetic life. The addition of Ryan Styles was a good move and hopefully more screen time with him and Alan's first wife plus the mother and housekeeper. No it won't be the same type of show (not a real big fan of Kutch) but is that necessarily a bad thing?
goweigusAug 3, 2011
yup
grannysrightAug 2, 2011
They should have had his funeral a long time ago on there. He sucks.
MauryDAug 2, 2011
Got that right.
mheykAug 2, 2011
Will he have coke on his nose in the casket?
nekokittayAug 2, 2011
I hate this show. It's so juvenile, and not in a good way.
JonathonFishenatorAug 2, 2011
He made the show, wont see it.
MauryDAug 2, 2011
I only caught the show a few times....thankfully. It was lame. Charlie is a freak.
Now I'm going to make sure and watch the first couple of shows to see that mad dog put down, and to see if they become the Phoenix and rise out of the ashes.
brucealmightyAug 2, 2011
Seems more likely that the funeral will be more symbolic of the end of the show itself than just the end of Charlie. It shouldn't take long to see who actually gets the last laugh.
MauryDAug 2, 2011
Well, the show has the odds surely stacked against it, thanks to Mr "I can do crack because I can handle it".
He put the whole show in the sewer. I hope the show does overcome the odds just to slap that junkie in the face.
hasahugedigAug 2, 2011
really? this Chuck Lorre seems like a really huge douche.
kernelpanicAug 2, 2011
...seems like a really huge douche....
Says the guy the classy guy with the two in the pink and on in the stink as their icon...
What a shocker...
ScarlettOhareAug 2, 2011
thats a good way to kill his character lol
surya_kantAug 3, 2011
that would be incredible..i will be waiting for the episode.
TheGeekyPenguinAug 2, 2011
And I thought he was gonna die of AIDS
