This effect is dependent upon the type of monitor you use. It won't print out, and folks with CRTs are all uniformly going to be going WTF?
But if you have the right sort of LCD (the panel in my T61 is one), the effect is that you only see one man until you tilt your monitor back and look at the screen at an angle (increasing the effective contrast and making too-light-to-see gray images pop out).

Oh, I get it. The background is pure white #ffffff, or rgb(255,255,255), and the "hidden" part is just barely off white, in this case #fbfbfb, or rgb(251,251,251).

Luckily have two LCD monitors. 1 works and one doesn't. Almost breaking my neck trying to figure out until I read your comment and moved to window to my other monitor.

The type of monitor doesn't really matter. If you actually bother to calibrate brightness & contrast--something most people don't ever do--then you should be able to see the image head-on. The effect relies on your monitor having factory/showroom settings with the brightness and contrast cranked way up to blow out the slightly off-white regions.
Moreover, the "tilt back" hint relies on cheap monitors with poor viewing angles to overcome the uncalibrated brightness. Again, if you have a nice screen (or a CRT), there shouldn't be that much of a visible change from viewing your monitor at steep angles.

No, if you have even a moderately nice computer screen and bother to calibrate it, you can see the image quite clearly without resorting to any tricks. The "magic" of the image relies upon monitors that are set to be overly bright, but have bad viewing angles.

Cute. Mind-blowing? No. But cute.
Except that as a poster it completely is dependent on knowing what the movie is about and getting the major plot twist (or giving it away if you haven't seen it).
To be "mind-blowing" I would expect a poster that can be viewed in two different ways. Before you know the plot twist it is just about Fight Club, ie guys fighting.
