I did see the original movie for the first time, not all that long ago. And from what I've heard about this one, I think it's going to be quite disturbing for both women and men.

Well, it's tough as a woman to watch anything, even a movie, depicting a woman being raped, tortured, etc., but the original more alluded to it. In this new version, the rape scene may be much more graphic.
