RIP. David was the "boring" one, not that Ricky was a James Dean rebel. I was a toddler when it first aired, so first saw it on re-runs. People forget that Ricky Nelson had a string of memorable tunes, including one, "Lonesome Town," that holds up with any pop hits from the 50s. When Bob Dylan wrote in his book that he was influenced by Nelson, I chalked it up to joking around. But sure enough, he plays a few Nelson songs on his radio show and has covered "Lonesome Town" in concert.

Ricky Nelson was one of my favorites. He was so handsome. I loved this show.

David also helped raise Ricky's kids, when he died in that plane crash. He was a man with a warm heart.
