MTV doesn't allow songs like Rape Me to be played...
codeblewOct 3, 2010
My favorite Nirvana song... So sad.
esornosoOct 2, 2010
Live long Nirvana..
chriscopywriterOct 2, 2010
RIP Kurt.
meribianOct 3, 2010
Nirvana was s**tty and was mostly enjoyed by idiots who wanted to feel like they were deep.

Thanks for offering up your worthless opinion. What have you done?
evildeadashOct 3, 2010
Grow up you f**king music snob; I'd love to know what you were listening to at that time. My friends and I listened to them all the time back then and NONE of us were listening to be "deep". It was just good music, period. I wonder where the anger from you is coming from. I bet a Nirvana fan stole your girlfriend, didn't they?
f**k you and f**k Digg v4.
meribianOct 3, 2010
Music that wasn't trying to popularize a downtrodden mentality. Music died somewhere in the 90's and Nirvana didn't help that at all. 50's - 80's is where the great music is.
Also, there's no reason to act butthurt because someone has an opinion that you don't share. lolComment is buried, click here to see the rest.
cubineOct 4, 2010
Way to overgeneralize.

if you and your "friiends" were lsitening to it, it pretty much proves hte original commenters point about it being liked by idiots. Havingg readyour coment history, it is clear you are the saddest, most pathetic human being on this planet who will soon commit sucidie and finally do something good for his family.
jholmes8Oct 3, 2010
Yeah man its all about the Beiber eh? Lol, your such a douche.
meribianOct 3, 2010
I keep seeing that name on the internet. I haven't liked a new song in over 10 years.
austicOct 3, 2010
Then you lead a sorrowful and depressing life, and I pity you.
meribianOct 3, 2010
It's just music. Besides, the 50's through the 80's have a ton of great music and is more than enough. Don't be so retarded.
ophelloOct 3, 2010
A transcript for those who are "unable to read" sounds like a...contradiction.

It looks like a child wrote it... The characters aren't even consistent throughout the "letter". I'm guessing he was majorly drugged up when he wrote this - assuming he did even write it.
codeblewOct 3, 2010
Well, I think it is a given that he was probably drugged up. Doesn't make what he wrote any less true.

What is prophetic about it? He said MTV was going down. It didn't. He did.
Sorry...but Cobain was a little bitch. He GREW UP with the MTV generation. So for as long as he was interested in music he KNEW that it was all glitz and glamour. He knew that megastars like Duran Duran relied solely on their video skills than their music. Yet he acted all shocked by that fact when he got into the industry.
stanfan114Oct 3, 2010
Kurt got the joke 20 years too late. MTV was always "empty TV". It was born in the cauldron of nihilism that was the 80s, where any second you could get vaporized by a nuke.
He killed bands like Poison and Whitesnake, so he deserves some modicum of respect for that. Also, Bleach was a pretty good album.
henrykillingerOct 3, 2010
Duran Duran put out some timeless songs, so suggesting that their video focus trumped their music is idiotic. That and radio was still a major selling point in any genre, at the time. Kurt didn't "go down" so much as solidify himself as the John Lennon of our era, something which is confirmed by statements I've heard via people ranging from rock musicians to dubstep DJs. Yes, you'll say that's melodramatic to make such a comparison, but try and dredge up a musician since Lennon who's had so much influence in death, or garnered so much respect.
Once upon a time people actually looked to MTV to publicize new music. Now they're a market for teen-focused reality series. I'd consider that a fall from grace, if nothing else.

I am a huge Duran Duran fan but to suggest that their success wasn't ENTIRELY due to MTV and their image shjows you are unwilling to be reasonable and intelligent on this matter. Calling a f**king loser like Cobain the John Lennon of our era shows that you are too stupid to do so anyway.
Yes...he went down. Like many other cowards. Couldn't handle his priviledged life so he took the coward way out. I would piss on his grave if I ever came across it. Him and his s**tty ass mumbling "music"
henrykillingerOct 4, 2010
Hahahaha. Haha. Thanks man.
thebeezOct 3, 2010
I'm sorry Kurt but penmanship counts
cmcagleOct 3, 2010
I love Nirvana, but prophetic? That was barely intelligible.
jonathanabOct 3, 2010
his letter... smell like teen
jonpaulOct 3, 2010
Why Kurdt? Thought that odd. There was a time when MTV was everything, probably was at this time. Now so many more ways to hear new music. So in that respect, he was right.
nicholasjohnjacOct 3, 2010
Rest in peace, Kurt. I'm sure you and Burroughs (and many other greats that didn't live to see their art become truly immortal, but knew...) are up there somewhere chillin' on a cloud.
