As much as I did enjoy the first movie, I was disappointed where it strayed from the source material. The fire scene, Big Daddy's origin story, even Dave Lisewski's relationships were much better in the graphic novel. It greatly changed the tone of the whole thing by letting him actually get the girl.
If you haven't read it, go read the graphic novel. Even if you've seen the movie, there's plenty that's different.
