No. Hell no.
And in terms of this piece in the article "...prequel series in the works starring Luke Pasquilano (above) as a slightly older William Adama than in Caprica" - we didn't even see Adama until the very last episode of Caprica, since the "Willie Adama" we thought was him dies in the episode before the last.
lucas123Jan 31, 2011
I thought that show died in the 1970s. Did they remake it or something?
sweatysackFeb 1, 2011
Really? You are missing out.. Watch the new series.
ofoarheffinsakeFeb 1, 2011
Watch the first two seasons, then save yourself the misery and stop there.
couragewulfJan 31, 2011
Isn't it syfy?
michaelpintoJan 31, 2011
How about we make it into a bad Filmation cartoon like Star Trek in the 70s?
sanmanFeb 1, 2011
I'm holding out for a musical
It'll feel like a combination of West Side Story and Riverdance
m3g4tr0nJan 31, 2011
Yes. I sincerely tried to like Caprica, but it is just a failure of a series, because nearly all prequels paint themselves into a corner. You can only have so much creativity living in the shadows of your parent series.
shingoexJan 31, 2011
Well, Metal Gear Solid 3 not withstanding.
I did, however, like the 3rd Underworld film, which tied into the intro of the 1st film quite nicely.
shingoexJan 31, 2011
Oh, and Halo Reach kicked ass
buttleFeb 1, 2011
I thought Caprica got really interesting in the second half of the season. And I thought the ending made me very curious to see a 2nd season and it also made me look back at the cylons in a whole new light now that I'm learning where they're from.
m3g4tr0nFeb 1, 2011
I didn't get that far. I stopped watching after the first season. Although, I might give the second season a look.
shingoexJan 31, 2011
The article writer needs to realize it was more than *just* the human/Cylon combination that made for the drama.

What is Sci-Fi?
rblancarteJan 31, 2011
Maybe.
Bigger point, it is time that the writer faced the facts, and started calling it SyFy.

canadianmacfanFeb 1, 2011
They should have killed it after the second season of BSG.
jefftsFeb 1, 2011
I wouldn't mind a spin-off about the first Cylon War as long as it has the same quality as BSG. For that matter, I think at least a mini-series surrounding Kobol or the 13th tribe might be interesting.

By the way, have you seen this floating around in regards to Egypt:

No. It's time for SyFi (Syphlis?) to get the wrestling and "reality" shows off the network and stop waiting money on crap like "Giant Octopus Vs. Mega Python" starring the 80's teen idol barely out of rehab, de'jur.
captmonkeyFeb 1, 2011
As much as I liked BSG, and heck I even watched all of Caprica, and as a whole, it wasn't that bad, I think it's time for SyFy to move on. This isn't the only decent sci-fi storyline that can ever exist. They should put their efforts into making something completely new. Why return to the BSG universe when they could be making a new show that will become as beloved by fans as Firefly or Farscape were.
I just can't see people getting that into another BSG show. The ending pretty much closed this story off so we all know where it's going.
netantFeb 1, 2011
Why not make a new show...? Because most new, significantly different TV shows FAIL! Firefly is the archtypical example of that. And watch the same knee jerk rejection happening to "Being Human". The show that comes to my mind is SG-U. Everyone thought it was going to be another plodding, comforting familiar SG franchise, and then *boom*, totally different genre. The target audience then proceeded to reject the different. (Viewers really do want to see smarmy characters, in a military context, smothered in American propaganda, doing the "right" thing and always succeeding, every week, after week, year after year...)
The problem are network execs who are inclined to gamble their development money on a derivative story (sequel or prequel), because it will likely have an instant audience base to cater towards. The other problem is that network execs cannot distinguish excellence from crap during the pilot development phase.
The new BSG show will probably be chock full of visual special effects, mimicking TV war every week, with a dashing space marine named Adama, ripping off every formulaic TV war/sci-fi episode ever done. From the network that says its science fiction oriented, and attracts wrestling fans.
The reality is that the entertainment world is not littered with literary geniuses who are dying for the chance to invent a new, mammoth story. Or else we would see that in published works. Sadly, what really needs to happen is for production costs for developing pilots need to be driven down by a magnitude. That would allow for more experimentation and potential alternate media avenues, such as the Internet.

BSG was popular because it was well written, and there were two smoking hot women on the show, models 6 and 8. Any BSG spinoff will be popular if it has those two elements.
Come to think of it, why the FRACK were there no hot lesbian scenes between a 6 and an 8?

68? Hmmmmm.......
superkendallFeb 1, 2011
Caprica had those same elements but I found it terribly boring.
bpoppa69Feb 1, 2011
I am more excited about the new prequel than Caprica

BSG was cool when they have hot robot women and blew s**t up. They lost me when they got into stupid virtual worlds, whiny scientists, and religious cults.

sometimes you just have to let a dynasty die. its time to give up, you've ran out of things to write about, syfy. It's the same crap over and over and over and over again. not gonna lie, its a great show, just....f**kING END ALREADY
killerhamFeb 1, 2011
The few times they showed the cylon war in BSG was awesome... This would definitely be an wicked show.
