I love RR, but holy s**t does he sound like a pre-high cheerleader in this interview.

That’s because the purported journalist doesn’t know how to do the editing after work. She doesn’t know how to write properly either.
When editing, your work is to translate the spoken word into a legible and comfortable way, without changing the original meaning obviously, and with some licenses to keep the mood of the interview. Not to copy down every sound the interviewee did, or unnecessarily repeating words etc. In that way many interviewees look like stutterers or dumbs.
