Frakin' hell! I've been waiting for the new season. I take it, there is no new season? Just a new show? I can stop waiting now I guess. Geez....Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
technorabbitOct 24, 2010
Um... Didn't Battlestar Galactica end?
anomaly100Oct 28, 2010
No, there was a new one that started, but a new season never came. They only had a couple of episodes. It wasn't worthy of the title.
AnonanimalOct 23, 2010
Hopefully this means Stargate:Universe will be forced to stop being a lame Battlestar Galactica rip-off and find its own voice. I was hoping they were on their way to that, until they turned Dr. Rush into a bad copy of Gaius Baltar and his invisible friends.
mizuhochanOct 23, 2010
The problem with SGU is that they're focusing on relationships. It's frakin stargate, give us some damned plot development and cool tech already.
spectecjrOct 23, 2010
You have to focus on relationships somewhat, or it gets boring. Seriously. All the cool tech and plot development in the world falls flat unless you have characters to carry it.
But yeah... it kind of lots its way a bit this season... at least, that's how it feels to me.
roquaOct 24, 2010
If the internet was aware, it would realize that you are correct and allow me to digg you twice.
bookantOct 23, 2010
The problem with SGU is SGU. They should scrap it and start over with another spinoff. The key elements that made Stargate as good as it was, and gave it its unique voice - this was not a dark and broody show, it was a scifi adventure show with a large dose of humor and the novelty of a "trekesque" "exploring strange new worlds" show that took place in the present day with characters you could relate to that explored the implications here on Earth as well.
How do you get that back? A new show centered on the SGC following the exploits of SG-1, which, with the passage of the last few years, is now composed of new personel. (Basically, think "SG-1 The Next Generation.")
bobmcbobOct 23, 2010
Or f**k, just make more SG-1.

SGU is amazing if you haven't watched any other stargates... In fact, I'm glad it was a BSG rip off because it sucked not having anymore BSG to watch... I agree though that they are going a little overboard with Rush being Baltar
16x9Oct 23, 2010
@killerham
I agree with most of what you've written. I watched and enjoyed the previous two Stargate series. But I like SGU quite a lot also. No, the tone of SGU is nothing like its predecessors but I'm okay with that.
killerhamOct 23, 2010
Its usually the fact that geeks hate change... look at star trek enterprise... or even Digg.
scientistblahOct 23, 2010
I feel like I'm the only one who didn't like BSG. Am I alone?
aptanalogyOct 24, 2010
I hope so.
kevroOct 24, 2010
He's probably thinking of the original , then I don't blame him. Not every one is/was aware of BSG reboot.
sammerabdinOct 24, 2010
I'm so sick of studios doing prequels. Give us something fresh and creative. Guess what? We already know how it ends.
mn1962Oct 24, 2010
SGU is turning into a brilliant show. Stargate was dying as a franchise and SGU revived it. I was so sick of Stargate's one dimensional characters and guns blazing resolution to each weeks problem. Also I'm a big BSG fan but Rush makes Baltar look like Apollo( if you ignore the genocide thing).
lazyrussianOct 24, 2010
@mn1962 - Nicholas Rush is fantastic Machiavellian character. I absolutely love him, but I can't say I like him more than Baltar.
Both actors play their parts well :)
I'm loving SGU:Season 2. It's a fresh start for them, and a cool plot idea, even if it's partially taken from BSG. For the record, I did not enjoy SG:A at all. I had to force myself to watch it, on top of forcing myself to watch SG1:Season 9, which was also horrendous, and so were the finale movies. I guess that's what happens when a show gets canceled.
Still, I love the franchise, even more so with SG:U. They'll need maybe 3 seasons to really get it going. I hope they get approved for another season.
fluxboxukOct 24, 2010
I still think the only reason I keep watching SGU is because every dam episode ends with a cliffhanger... That and at some point, someone or something has to shoot Rush for being such a complete and total ass**** :)
ultramagnus0001Oct 23, 2010
Caprica is getting pretty good. I wonder if the same guy that played young Adama in the original series will play him in this one. Sounds like it will have lots of shooting and explosions. Hope they mix the audio well.
agmlauncherOct 23, 2010
I couldn't get into Caprica. The stars of the show are kids, and the religious theme puts me off. I hope this new show goes back to the gritty military style of BSG. Either way, I'll have a hard time getting into William Adama's character without James Edward Olmos playing it.
hipmanOct 23, 2010
"The stars of the show are kids, and the religious theme puts me off."
To each his own I guess.Nothing nessesarily wrong with those things though.
killerhamOct 23, 2010
BSG had a HUGE religious theme starting from season 1... Did you not watch the show?
heavystoneOct 23, 2010
Really? The religious theme put you off? Did you even pay attention to BSG? The whole damn thing is about religion!
agmlauncherOct 23, 2010
But it was more intertwined with politics and the military in a real way, not portrayed as some cult full of crazies. I just hated how the entire plot revolved around The Soldiers of the One.
In BSG, the religious theme was secondary to the survival of the human race.
aristotle0dudeOct 24, 2010
Dude, you totally missed the point of the show.
antdudeOct 23, 2010
Not enough Cylons. :(
ultramagnus0001Oct 23, 2010
Not yet
antdudeOct 23, 2010
When? :P I gave up on Caprica two weeks ago.
maximmOct 23, 2010
religious crap put me off BSG alot still like it overall put that part just sucked.
particleman420Oct 23, 2010
Edward James Olmos
dhvyseOct 23, 2010
Worlds most boring show.
infidelcastr0Oct 23, 2010
Awesome news, though I'm a bit worried since Ron Moore Isn't involved.
They'd better not cancel Caprica.
cyberdactylOct 23, 2010
Ahhh, Caprica is a soap opera with some sci-fi sprinkled on.
bdbrOct 23, 2010
You should be worried not just because Moore isn't involved, but because SyFi is.
barmatOct 23, 2010
I am so looking forward to how this all ends. Oh wait, we already know.
particleman420Oct 23, 2010
god did it.
heavystoneOct 23, 2010
Any news on the BSG mmorpg?
rethreadOct 23, 2010
Bounty hunters, Pirates, Mafia, and High Tech - Low Religion.
Put some money into Firefly, s'all I'm sayin.
satori3000Oct 24, 2010
so say we all.
jumpyjmanOct 23, 2010
I always though Caprica would involved the Cylon War, so I wounder what exactly a Cylon War series means for Caprica.
satori3000Oct 24, 2010
Off the top of my head unless something earth shattering happens this season I'd say the series is dead.
dramaqueenmamaOct 23, 2010
Please let it die in peace.
farcry15Oct 23, 2010
how can this show have lasted longer than firefly?
dhvyseOct 23, 2010
Because it was on Sci-Fi and not Fox?
specimen7Oct 23, 2010
The "Syfy" channel is unwatchable now. They have huge popups that block the screen just to let us know what's coming on next. Add that to the huge, moving and blinking logo overlay and the show is just an afterthought.

they're about 2 years into the first season, so what is that, 8 episodes? they're too slow for me to give a s**t about that show that barely interests me.
i'm more interested in how they're going to try and shoehorn their story into the already established BSG stuff.
trodemasterOct 23, 2010
I all for science fiction shows that have stuff flying around and blowing things up. You know maybe some action. BSG has some serious lulls in the more recent series...Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Wow. everyone talking about SGU!
SGU is a great series. Different from the 2 predecessors. It focus on relationship which makes it awesome. there aren't any boring episodes. Each one adds up more to the story and character bringing us deeper and deeper to the story making us feeling connected and feel their pain, stress and joy....
Now for another BSG spin off.... BRing it on!!! yeahComment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Was wondering where the next, great SciFi series was going to come from but without RDM? Don't know if this will be it.
