...is this like, going to be a documentary or a movie about their life or something?
charlesp2009May 25, 2011
Is nothing sacred? We need a dictator to take over Hollywood and put an end to these remakes, reboots, sequels and so on. Try something new!
dsmxMay 25, 2011
But hollywood already has dictators in charge and they dictate that anything that's is popular needs sequels and remakes.
charlesp2009May 25, 2011
We need a new dictator then, I nominate myself. You can be my vice-dictator.
stevehiggsMay 25, 2011
What's wrong with bringing the Stooges back to Hollywood? The film could blow.. sure.. but on the other hand it brings attention back to the originals. Is everything great never to be touched again? Grow up. No harm will come to your precious Stooges. The minute someone mentions that there should be a dictator involved they've lost all credibility. At best it's funny, at worst it's garbage and we all move on.
charlesp2009May 25, 2011
You will not be appointed to any position when I take over Hollywood.
stevehiggsMay 25, 2011
Haha.. Touché sir, touché.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by all the negativity here. Digg users tend to lean on the sarcastic / pessimistic side a little more than I would hope :S
To all those that are against the idea because it could never be as good as the originals I ask: What harm is it actually doing? They can't ruin the originals right?
No matter how bad the new movie might be (and I for one remain optimistic that it might possibly be a funny film) it's not like they will go and burn up the original films right?
If this movie is so terrible that it is not funny at all, AND it doesn't inspire people who have not seen the old shows yet to go watch them than we just ignore it and move on. It can't in any way cause harm to the enjoyment of the originals.
Best case, it's actually hilarious and reminds us of what we loved so much about the originals. Like I said it could inspire young people or anyone for that matter who have not been previously introduced to the stooges to go and watch the real three stooges at their best. If you love them so much why stand in the way of more folks seeing and enjoying them?

Shemp was always my favorite stooge, so luckily he's not in this soon-to-be-bomb.
spc4May 25, 2011
No Shemp Howard??
nufadzooMay 25, 2011
A long way from Sean Penn, Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro
gkiltzMay 25, 2011
