I'd be all for rebooting everything back to the late Weisinger/mid-Schwartz era. For all the bitching about multiple Kryptonians and alternate Earths, they were fairly easy to keep straight. How many Superman origins have there been since Byrne and Crisis f-d everything up?
Here's what they need:
-The classic costumes
-An editor who CONTROLS their stable of characters, reins in the writer's egos, and makes the artists FOLLOW THE MODEL SHEET
-Lower prices
-BREAK THE BACK OF DIAMOND and get into every possible store
-SINGLE ISSUE STORIES
-Far LESS cosmic bulls**t - relate stories to the real world readers live in
-If more than half the characters in any story are in a costume, something is wrong
-Whatever happenned to secret identities??

There are people who prefer DC over Marvel thanks to the "cosmic bulls**t". Some people read comics as an escape, and most Marvel books (thanks to being set in real-world cities) are the exact opposite.

All of your suggestions would have us read the same comics forever.
No thanks. I would rather some chances on creativity be taken.

See, the point is YOU are not meant to read the same comics forever. You can move on to new/different characters and creators. Franchise characters like Superman, FF, Batman and Mickey Mouse are supposed to be frozen in time, with a regular reader turnover. There are an infinite number of stories that can be told without the detriment of soap opera multi-issue continuity. That's how classic characters nicely survived for their first 4 decades or so. .
Your ideas would have Superman and family age, mature, and change to suit things YOU have never seen before. That means no new readers, and the expiration of classic characters within 10-20 years.

Multiple universes.
Marvel did it.

After seeing Green Lantern and Thor, I'm glad fans are looking to protest this.
Btw, a new social network is about the launch a beta.... http://www.nxus.co/

good maybe the studio CEOs will figure out that they need to bring back creative thought instead of grinding out remakes of remakes and reboots of remakes.
