billboard.biz — Davy Jones of the The Monkees, a TV band whos many hits include "Daydream Believer," "Last Train to Clarksville," "I'm a Believer" and "(I'm Not Your) Steppin; Stone," and "Pleasant Valley Sunday," died of a heart attack Wednesday morning in Florida, his rep confirmed with TMZ. The Martin County medical examiner's office received a call from Martin Memorial Hospital informing them that Jones had died. He was 66. The Monkees were a born out of the comedy and music TV series called "The Monkeys" that ran from 1966 through 1968.
