I haven't heard the new album, all that analog gear should make it sound great. I have a hard time listening to the older Foo Fighters stuff because it's overly compressed to the point of pain. Great songs though.

this man is a pure genius. we saw them a few years back and they dont need all the pyro and fx to make a good show, they rely on their talent and by doing things off the cuff.

nothing genius about that... thats how I learned to mix s**t. Sure it sounds like tape..... warm but you can achieve warm via digital. I think it comes down to this. He was in f**kin nirvana dude. That makes him cool... and slightly wealthy. so he can do whatever the f**k he wants and it can sound cool. Don't get me wrong. I love Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Butch Vig. They are HEAVY influences on my guitar based production preferences.

these days though. Cool can f**k right off. f**k Cool right in the f**kin FACE! with a f**kin BRICK! I hate cool. Its restrictive and self destructive.

I love that Dave's a good dad though. That makes him hot.

If I were him, I would probably get myself a Clasp system http://www.endlessanalog.com/ - no more need to cut tape and stay focused on the music. The guy's loaded. If he can afford that lovely API console in the video, then this is only chump change.
