First, there's no mention of this in any way being a result of funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Second, no matter what an artist does, there will be people that love it and people that think it's stupid and pointless; in most cases, both camps can make a valid argument. But just because it's impossible to please everyone doesn't mean a little government funding for stuff like this is misplaced.
Do I like it? Not really, it's not my taste. It seems like another recursive pop-culture reference "ironic" artwork that I don't really care that much about (I get a 'teehee, it's an eight foot tall vhs of 2001: A Space Odyssey, because there was a black monolith in the movie' kind of vibe.)
I don't find the aesthetics or idea especially appealing, but I won't begrudge the artist making it if that's what he wants to do. Implying that it shouldn't be made because you don't enjoy it is like saying no one should eat pork because you only like beef.

i don't care what the artists makes but it is my tax dollars paying for crap like this i dont like . Govt has no place funding art period let free market rule there like it does else where.
