political ads are a waste of money, do people decide after viewing a 30 sec ad on TV?
bdbrNov 7, 2010
Would it really surprise you if they did?

Lots of candidates gained points in polling after they got a boost in money for advertising.

This is exactly why their should be a cap on campaign spending. The more cash you have the more propaganda you can spew out.

It still does not guarantee a win. Meg Whitman just proved that in spades.

And Fiorina.
They spent their money mostly on lies.

cap election season spending and make it illegal for any member of congress to accept any money from anyone, corporations included, outside of an election year
BAN CORPORATIONS FROM DONATING PERIOD!
we need to get some regulations in congress so their vote cannot be bought
make it at least a 5 year MMS for anyone in congress taking money from any corporation

For the 3 weeks prior to the election we stopped answering our home phone and put it on silent. We did this cause even a month before the election we were getting 10+ calls each night from political groups.

Only if you watched TV every minute of October. I only watch a few shows... not a lot of good stuff on TV these days.

As someone who tried to figure out what both the D and R's plan for the next term was and what exactly they wanted to do, I couldn't find any. The only thing I could find, was personal bulls**t about the other candidates.
I still have no clue what any of the political parties wants to do, how they want to do it, what they want to change and how and how to pay for it etc.
And whenever a politician are asked these questions, bulls**t ensues.
And this is the biggest difference between first world politics and second world US politics. When I vote for a party, I know exactly what they want to do, why and how they want to pay for it. Americans are never told any such thing, just that candidate X "isn't like us" and "is socialist communist nazi atheist and that is really bad" type of arguments.
US politics is the politics of stupid and the result follows!

Yea and none of them made any difference in who I voted for.

But yet it remains illegal to show a naked breast, or say the word s**t!
Do you see the hippocracy there?
