Those who've been around her say she's said much worse things about her little boy than Family Guy would even dare! And the girl who does the voice acting does have DS, so it's not like she doesnt know a thing or two about what she's making fun of!

You think she honestly knows what shes saying, what it all means in the context shes saying it. Do you really think its ok to put her in situations shes doesnt fully comprehend? If you do, then your the type of person who should be taken into a backalley and beaten.

I would assume people are burying him for the fact that he's acting kind of like his criticism of Family Guy makes him this intellectual powerhouse. He's not just pointing out that it's a terrible show, he seems to be saying, "See, the fact that I can recognize that it's a terrible show makes me so much better than everyone else."
I admit, I'm just speculating here, as I didn't personally bury him (truth be told, I hardly ever bury anyone), but people tend not to like it when you act like a pretentious, pompous assh**e, whether they agree with you or not.

i grew up in the 80's, so i DO get a lot of the references. its a helluva lot better than when i was a kid watching cartoons and NOT getting any of the 60's and 50's references (watch loonie toons and you'll see what i mean). even if a lot of the humor is of the dumb, immature type, the show still has moments of genius (see the star wars specials). as far as animated shows go, its a slightly more edgier, less vanilla version of the simpsons. and sometimes that's enough.

Sarah Palin really needs to learn a lesson or two about shutting up when people make fun out of her. If someone's trying to get a rise out of you, you don't just sit there and announce to the world that yes, it worked. Setting all politics aside for a moment, I just can't fathom what she thinks she is doing.
Closed AccountJul 26, 2010
No she doesn't. If she doesn't react then we won't have such an easy target any more.
Closed AccountJul 26, 2010
Yes, because heaven forbid liberals didn't have her to fall back on rather than addressing real issues. There are about five people in the whole world who don't think she's the biggest f**king joke in politics today. If John McCain hadn't f**king blown it by picking her as his running mate, she'd still be a nobody. She doesn't deserve any attention from anyone. She just needs to be ignored so that she will finally go away once and for all.
Disclaimer: I'm not a conservative, and I didn't vote for McCain, but neither am I a liberal, and I didn't vote for Obama. I just have no interest in the farce that is partisan politics, and Palin is a prime example of that.
oboshoeJul 26, 2010
Actually she is playing the PR game extremely well. Remember in PR, negative exposure is only slightly less desirable than positive exposure and FAR better than no exposure.
Here we are 21 months after the election and DIGG and the rest of the US can't stop talking about her. How many other VP contenders can say that.
Even Al Gore didn't get this much exposure nearly 2 years later.
In fact, its so prevalent that she is the current leading contender for the Republican nomination and has more name recognition than any other contender for 2012 (quick! name 3 other serous contenders)
At the rate we are going, we are going to criticizing her right into the Whitehouse.

Family Guy has its moments but it will never match South Park. Every time I watch Family Guy it just spews liberal propaganda, now I don't care if you are white, black, liberal, conservative but it is a cartoon! I prefer South Park because they are more disciplined when it comes to writing actual stories, and they are bolder with their absurdity. Example, the Oprah's vagina hostage scenario would have just been a cutaway bit on Family Guy, but South Park structures an entire episode around it. Of course, episodes of South Park are not always homeruns, but I admire the effort.

Seeing that the show is about a family of WASPy New Englanders, I don't think their political stuff is off base.
Most people are probably too young to see the connection between "Family Guy", and "All In The Family", which is clearly a inspiration for this show. In that show, it was the other way around, since the main character was a pissed off blue collar uneducated racist. That's what the show was about. I don't think many people didn't get the concept back then.

I don't think FG is trying to match SP. Why do people always have to boil it down to a competition? I think SP gets too preachy and relies too much on current events but I don't sit there and say "it'll never be FG" because its not trying to be. FG does its own thing and so does SP. Sure, they both do provocative stories and jokes, but so has a million other shows/movies. Theres enough room in this world for both shows.

Like many comedians they've fallen into the rut of thinking edgy=funny. That of course isn't true, it takes no talent or creativity to be edgy, just the discovery that you can offend one group of people to the enjoyment of another. And unfortunately that latter group will always be dumb enough to applaud them and support them in their decent in to comedic laziness.

Not that I dislike SP - they put out a few great episodes per year, and they put out a few not so great episodes, and all together they put out a small fraction of the total episodes that Seth puts out. So the greatest episode of SP probably beats the greatest episode of Seth's shows each year, but the sum quantity of greatness coming out of Camp Seth towers over that of Camp Trey+Matt.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Because that would be like watching a fight between Mohammad Ali and a 5 year-old girl. Sure, it would be funny at first due to shock but in the end you would convulse from the blood bath that would ensue.
Palin shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone. She was only selected by McCain after it was apparent that Hillary Clinton wasn't going to win the DNC nomination, hoping that they could get a few women to vote with their hormones instead of their head. Now, Palin says anything that she thinks will get votes/rile up fake anti-government outrage.
It's kind of funny when the party out of power does this. Democrats did it when the Republicans were in power and now the Republicans are doing it now that the Democrats are in power. It's a f**king soap opera and no one realizes it. Both parties have their idiots(John McCain since the start of the 08 campaign, Michelle Bachmann, John Kerry, guy that said an island would tip over, Sarah Palin, Martha Coakley), and both parties have truly good members(Russ Feingold, John McCain prior to 08 campaign). To act as if one party has all the idiots or all the intelligent people is just ignorant.
Now, I know that someone will respond with a third party. Which some third party candidates are good. Sorry, but most Americans are too dumb/apathetic to be able to choose between any more than A or B.

I didn't really think it was funny, but Palin's reaction cracks me up. So, it's worth it for that.

Am I the only one wanting Family Guy to just die already?
Leave the biting cruelty to South Park, people who know how to make a funny.

Southpark is funny maybe 10% of the time now. The rest of the season they phone it in.

Truth be told I've not seen a whole South Park season for a bit now. Shame if it fell off :(

I hate Family Guy because they talk too fast for me, I don't get half the jokes, I can't keep up with the storylines, they smoke drugs, there are gay dudes in it, they have funny accents, and the dog drives a Prius.
