Thumbs up for the spider man.

I've followed Iron Man since when I was a kid and have most every issue of the original run.
Once the series were "rebooted", I lost interest though.

S.H.I.E.L.D. is amazing. It sucks that there is such a long wait between issues though =(

I'm glad there's also some non-superhero comics in there. Men in tights with god-like powers never managed to entertain me.

Secret Wars?
kingbpdAug 23, 2010
Loved that series.
captmonkeyAug 23, 2010
This is a list of current comics, Secret Wars hasn't been published in like 25 years.
raoulduke310Aug 23, 2010
I think it just says "The Best of Marvel Comics", not the best Marvel Comics published recently.

I'm a Marvel fanboy who fell behind on comics last August, but I'm planning on getting back into them soon, but this SHIELD series is a must buy for me...so with as few spoilers as possible, can someone tell me if Nick Fury is still kickin' it, and is he director of SHIELD again?
Thanks fellow comic nerds

SHIELD is about the secret past of the organization and takes place before Nick Fury is the director. I assume Nick Fury will make an appearance in later issues.

is you mean the S.H.I.E.L.D. series that is mentioned in the list, then, no. It is a different organization founded in the ancient egypt and lead by the brightest minds in the history of earth (Da Vinci, Galileo, Newton, etc.)
The well known SHIELD is back now (there is no more H.A.M.M.E.R.), but it is not being run by Nick Fury... it seems to be run mostly by Steve Rogers (now he is a commander, not captain) and Maria Hill (but Hill appears mainly with Iron Man and some avengers issues).

Dugg for Thanos Imperative and Matt Fraction's work on Iron Man.

Please please PLEASE check out an arc called "The Seven Capital Cities of Heaven" from the Immortal Iron Fist if you loved the fighting tournament martial arts movies like "Enter the Dragon". I didn't even really know who the Fist was prior to reading it, but it would make the most badass Kung-fu movie ever.
cesclaveriaAug 23, 2010
I have never been a big kung-fu movies fan.. but if they made that comic into a movie I would be there day one buying my ticket.

Dugg for Thanos Imperative.
Annihilation was amazing. It became Marvel's sci-fi space opera, and turned the lame old Nova character into what is now my favorite super hero of all time (barring what's been done leading up to the latest arch).
Get the Annihilation and Conquest trade paper backs, you won't be disappointed.
prod_deityAug 23, 2010
I really enjoyed Age Of Apocalypse. I guess I should check our Thanos Imperative before it gets too late.

I hate pages that jump to the bottom when you hit the down key. I don't want to scroll using my mouse, why must you f**k me over IGN?!
fenririiiAug 23, 2010
IGN's website is a piece of s**t. It does this to me every time and I just want to strangle their web-developer. (I actually came to this forum exclusively to vent my frustrations. :P )

Article aside: Let's give it up for a 10-item list on only 2 pages everyone!

The art for Steve Rogers Super Soldier is really ugly. The only thing worse I've ever seen was the art for the 3rd run of the Ulitmates.
