Yes and no. He did actually find the time machine that will take him back to his time, but it was too soon, and he was defeated (yeah, crazy eh?). At that point they made it clear the story of Samurai Jack is one of endless searching and exploring. The way the show is created, we will never see him win, and that's ok with me.

Couldn't agree more. I'm not a huge fan of the Japanese animations' that AdultSwim airs on Saturday nights and not one of them comes close to the epic scope that "Jack" presented us with, Every panel flowed seamlessly into the next, it was truly on par with a Frank Miller comic book. In short the best piece of visual eye candy Cartoon Network has ever produced.

Actually, Adult Swim is known to edit a lot of their anime content, and normally not always places that make sense.
Go watch One Piece on adult swim, and then watch the actually show. One Piece is one of the most popular japanese anime currently, yet in America it seems like a kid's cartoon it is so horribly censored.

Genndy Tartakovsky (creator of Samurai Jack) was director for a lot of Powerpuff Girls episodes, so it's not surprising to see a lot of the same stuff in both shows.
He and Craig McCracken worked best together, IMO-- Dexter's Laboratory was great, but Foster's Home was meh (McCracken wasn't always the best writer).

Paradox.
The images clearly show Townsville left in ruins, which means Feudal Japan must have somehow been formed after Townsville was destroyed. But that would make no sense as Townsville is more modernized than Feudal Japan.
So if Townsville was first, the Professor should have been born first, and years later Jack would have been born. But that still doesn't make sense as Feudal Japan should have came before Townsville.
Unless the cartoons' universe history is backwards. Which contradicts the history of the current universe we live in.

Thus, The professor and Townsville would be around (and destroyed) between Jack's two existences, (his own time, and the future).
So no, there's no paradox, and the universe history ISN'T backwards.

Jack was born before the Professor, they look alike, so the idea was that JACK is the Professor's great grandfather or something stupid like that. Makes sense, Jack time travelled from before the Professor was alived to AFTER. Arguably, maybe Jack never goes back in time to give birth to some kid to eventually father the Professor, BUT, it would be impossible for the Professor to be Jack's grandfather or something since Jack was born before the Professor was, definitely (well unless some other crazy hidden s**t supposedly happened with the Professor's birth that we don't know about).

CN used to have such good original shows. All there new stuff is just random crap put together, no content. Don't get me wrong, they can have their funny moments, but that's all the shows are now. There's no compelling story lines, no life lessons, no thought provoking moments...and forget educational. It's like all the shows were created and written in some forth grade classrooms in Kansas.
The last new show I thought was good was Fosters, and that went down the tubes eventually, too. It's like you could see the change of the network in the middle of it's run from good writing to utter crap. I really lost faith in them when they bought Johnny Test from Nick. That show is so much pointless garbage you can almost feel your brain rotting from watching it.

The real answer? No, the universes are not the same. It's just an easter egg because there is obviously some crossover from people working on each show. If you guys knew anything about the shows you'd know that Samurai Jack Universe if run by Aku, who spread evil around the world the second he banished Samurai Jack into the future. There is clearly not an evil overlord controlling the world in Powerpuff Girls. Anyone who finds this remotely mindblowing is an idiot. I haven't seen Samurai Jack in a long time, I watched the intro and shat a few bricks when I noticed that Aku is Uncle Iroh from The Last Airbender; or at least they are both voiced by the same person.
Pretty weird hearing the voice of Iroh as the bad guy.

It's easy, just add, "Tea?" at the end of Aku's quotes.
"Oh, put that thing away, Samurai. We all know what's going to happen. You'll swing your sword, I'll fly away, and probably say something like, "I'll be back, Samurai!" And then I'll flutter over the horizon and we probably won't see each for... about a week. And then we'll do the same thing again. Tea?"

I met that guy in Burbank. My friend is a family friend of his and I hung out in his backyard bar and he played some of his audition tapes for us. Voice actors have a huge amount of talent to create so many different personae.

PPG is the timeline that exists after Jack kills Aku, but Jack returned to the future after killing him because he got used to it.

Heh, I've got a Buttercup squeeze doll that's gotta be 10 years old now. Squeeze her tummy and her eyes light up and she makes laser sounds and says different phrases. My favorite is "I think they're asking for a hiney whoopin'!"
