Agreed. Re-watched D9 the other night and the cinematic pieces I didn't like before were still leagues above some of these other directors. Based on the slower pace of the 2nd Ironman, we need fast-paced visual elements on the next one. Everyone 'gets' the origins & motivations - just give us the action!
So, no Joss (sorry guy) unless he produces or co-writes.
And keep Singer far away from this.

I think Joss will be better with the ensemble cast with the Avengers.
I can't forgive Singer for Superman Returns. He started out well with the Airplane scene then it all went to hell. I still for the life of me can't understand why he took the most action packed scene and placed it in the first 20 minutes of the film?!
District 9 was great. Blomkamp is great he took a scifi movie and added layers to it. I think he could take a story involving the Mandarin and turn it into something that is not only action packed/visually appealing but also take it to another level with a technology vs mysticism story.
