A lot of those are still better than half the garbage that comes out as "original comedy".
Ghostbusters 2, European Vacation, Major League 2, and Austin Powers 2 are all entertaining in their own right.

Am really looking forward to Hangover II. TIME magazine reckons the following sequels were better than the originals:-
1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
3. Before Sunset
4. Bride of Frankenstein
5. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
6. The Good, the Bad & the Ugly
7. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
8. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
9. The Bourne Ultimatum
10. Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn
Not sure what their criteria were but probably agree with The Good, the Bad & the Ugly.

I was going to digg this until they started bad mouthing the Naked Gun 2 1/2. Blasphemy!
Now if they were to bring up the Naked Gun 33 1/3, they may have had a point...

I don't know how you can say half of these to be disappointments because someone would have to expectations for something to a disappointment. Dumb and dumberer? what the hell were you expecting? I don't think one person saw this expecting anything close to the original. Maybe the author did. That would make him kinda stupid though...

Many of these movies listed here are only not as good as the first because of how high the bar was set with the first, but that doesn't make them garbage.
It's like saying Jimi Hendrix is garbage at playing guitar because you heard Eddie Van Halen play.
(NOTE: If you believe Hendrix is better than Van Halen, then flip these.)

I've yet to read a positive review of the Hangover Part II, most say the sequel is too faithful to the jokes of the original. Still though, I will likely see it, maybe just not in theaters.
