By "Zooms upward" they surely mean lost 13% in the first three days of trading... I'm not sure if we're looking at the same thing "ZIP" but the stock opened at 30 (not 18 as described in the article) and closed today at 26.37...

Wrong continent...
Yes, there are few very urban places where Zipcar can and will work in the USA. However, vast majority of the country is built fundamentally different than old cities of Europe (where Zipcar concept applies the most). The whole Zipcar concept is completely disfunctional here. Add to it mountains of cheap usable used cars and the concept fails miserably. Just because it can work in SF or NYC does not mean it can work anywhere else or deserve any stock rally.
