For a small car on the outside, I was surprised how much room was on the inside of the Fit, especially the front seats. I'm a fairly tall guy, and I had plenty of room. It's not the first car I would go out and buy, but if I were looking for a small, efficient car, it would be high on the list.

the Fit is definitely one of the best compacts on the road.

Agreed. It's a solid value for the money.

All about costs here.
The Fit starts out at $14,000 and the Prius is about $20,000.
Both great cars.

But which would you choose if you didnt have an extra $6,000? The Fit wins in my books

33MPG for the Fit or 50MPG for the Prius... I pick the Prius.
BabamphFeb 9, 2011
Yeah, I agree. But according to tests the Prius doesnt save so much in harsh winter areas

$6,000 buys an awful lot of gas.

that's the base model which most people will find undrivable. it's going to be around $17k after options before taxes. You can get a Kia Forte with the econo package (26-36mpg) for ~17k out the door.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

agreed... the base trim of practically any car model lacks something which makes it not worth getting for all but the most budget conscious (who might get more for their money in the used market). The base model is used in advertising to say "Prices start at..." but every ad has the disclaimer "Priced as shown" in small print.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

My Toyota has over 250k miles and still running strong. When it's time, my next car will be a Toyota Prius.
kasha34Feb 12, 2011
The Prius runs on batteries when it's under 25 mph, right? And for how many miles can it go on the battery?
