Something about the traditional market for pickup trucks and concerns about fuel economy strikes me as odd.

They should add a solar paneled gun rack
goweigusJan 12, 2011
lol what would that power be used for? Charging your scope batteries?
misstirioJan 12, 2011
Multipurpose attachment (solar paneled, not solar powered)- rack guns and harness power for whatever...

If this thing doesn't have lasers then count me out.

The top selling truck (F-150) is used for what a truck is made for. I doubt these kind of people will buy something like this.

Prius's are terrible. The amount of work into creating a prius battery, mining the materials for it, creating the batteries in a factory, negates the "green" effects of driving a prius for 10 years.
spreadtruthJan 12, 2011
Because Priuses are the only devices that use Li-Ion batteries, clearly....
decimatorofworldsJan 12, 2011
Not saying that. Just saying when people claim to do it to be green, they don't consider what it takes to get the battery.
spreadtruthJan 12, 2011
Fair point. But when you look at the amount of cost and equipment it takes to extract and refine oil, investing money into battery technology looks better and better.

Nice, now you can look like a man while you tow like a child.

I think it's an awesome idea to turn a s**tty car into a s**tty truck
soilJan 13, 2011
How or why do you take time to "confirm" that someone "could consider" something. Here, let me try. Confirmed: Soil could consider planting trees on Neptune. That's fun, the possibilities are endless.

This definitely wouldn't be a bad idea. I've never understood why they haven't been able to make pick-up trucks or SUV's with the same technology they implement in the smaller vehicles.
mishabearJan 13, 2011
Part of the issue is the utility of a truck. People will load it with lumber, appliances, furniture, etc and that will affect the duration of batteries.
mishabearJan 13, 2011
A pickup doesn't need to be "macho". I have been waiting to go electric or hybrid when they came out with a reasonable truck. I don't care to put my two dogs or lumber inside a Prius. I want the utility of a truck, not so much the image it conveys.
