The government never could save the markets. The markets will get fixed when the government gets out of the way.

And stop competing with the private market giving our tax dollars to a bunch of do nothing employees.

Could both of you be any less ideologically misguided and short-sighted? It doesn't appear so.
Let me guess, you were both cheerleaders in a former life...

i just hope i'm in a position to buy some stock when the prices hit rock-bottom. although, they said the only way was up the last time this happened...

Outsmarting the market is a gamble. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

Adding a few technical indicators to the education can help eliminate much guesswork.

Fine with me as long as we don't need to bail you out ;-)
houstontexasinjuryattorneyAug 6, 2011
Am with you on the bail outs - I'd like to have one as well whenever I make a decision that don't turn out quite like I planned.

I'd agree with you if basic economic principles supported that theory. Unless the private sector steps up and begins hiring, we won't see consumer demand or a sustainable global economic recovery any time soon.
Since nothing points to that possibility (even though they have the resources), purchasing stock at this time amounts to blind speculation. Expect further market deterioration as we're in for a sustained downturn and ongoing market volatility.

Why not QE3, QE4 or heck even QE5? Yes it devalues $$ but I don't think Americans really care about that. They are too busy blaming each other for the problems.

We have the government for which we voted. If you don't like what's happening, do something about it the next time you vote! As Pogo said: "We have met the enemy, and he is us!"
and remember... if we put the same folks back in office, we can expect the same results.
bluhevetteSep 30, 2011
There is nothing new to this. It is not for the Government to decide how the market plays. I just wish, with all the bright minds they have in there they can device a good economic plan.
newsicanuseAug 7, 2011
Maybe instead of growing government like we've been doing for over 100 years, we should start electing representatives that are committed to cutting the size of scope of government and get back to Liberty and Freedom.
