So he's not immortal in America, but he *is* immortal in the UK...for now?!?

Be nice. I was thinking the same thing. :-)

YES!

FTA: Since that show doesn’t air on BBC America, we’ll have to wait until it hits DVD/BluRay to see it.
Uh, torrents quit working?

The site made a type. When I submitted the story, it copied from the site and I didn't catch the typo. Digg fixed it though.

I liked Tom Baker, hope this works out for it, and the whole Doctor Who series. I haven't seen any of the new shows for a long time

This is a little weird. It's clearly necessary to have the series able to continue past the previous 'limit' of doctors but there's no reason they couldn't write some excuse into the show that 'restarts' his number of regenerations somehow.

Amy just rebooted the universe, she brought back the Doctor but she had no idea there was any kind of silly regeneration limit.
frakkinbastardOct 17, 2010
So what? It's fiction, it's their property, they can do whatever they want with it. You nerds are free to stop watching it, I'm sure the 3 of you will make BBC quake in its boots. :)Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

This happening was kind of inevitable, but doesn't this give them less story to work with in the long run? Come on, they could have got a whole series arc out of a "doctor's final life" story and just throw in some deus ex machina as they always do to get him back at the last second. Now there's nothing to play with there.
Seems a waste!

It's already been established that a Time Lord can get around the 12 regenerations limit as The Master had regenerated 13 times, from before the reboot. Doing it in a spin off is nice because they don't have to waste precious dr who time on something that we all knew they'd find a way around anyway.
wagedomainOct 17, 2010
Not only that but the Council offered the Master an entire set of new regenerations, leading me to believe that it was the Gallifreyans themselves that limit the regeneration to 12, not some natural restriction.

http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Compound_B67 Retcon ;)
rhawk187Oct 17, 2010
There are much more graceful ways of getting around the regeneration limit. The Master even says that the time lords gave him an extra set of regenerations to help fight in The Last Great Time War. So there are ways out there. I'd love to see some great quest for The Doctor to try to up his regeneration limit. Especially if it meant having to bring the Time Lords back to do it. So you have to chose between dying forever, or brining back a race that is a threat to the entire universe.

They didn't retcon anything, "The Master" has already regenerated more than twelve times.
