we want to encourage ppl to buy electric or hybrid cars..that ep of top gear certainly did not help this. now i wonder how much more eps r tweaked for dramatic effects.

Yes, it is completely phoney, they always make it obvious they are only doing a comedy routine. It's just entertainment, get the sand out of your collective vaginas and move on!

MOST of the cars they do reviews for are out of 99% of the general population price range. If the CEO of Tesla hasn't figured out that Top Gear is more entertainment than a car show, he needs to step down as CEO. Top Gear is a very entertaining show especially when they do challenges.
Given the amount of Teslas out there, should we start calling Tesla a hobby company rather than a car company? Pot calling kettle black.

This is stupid, first off, Jeremy said they figured it would only do 53 miles around their track before needing to be recharged. That's completely reasonable, if you watch other episodes they regularly mention that most cars they test around their track get 3 mpg! As for the mechanical break down, I think it was just bad luck for Tesla. Top Gear is pretty hard on their cars, they break things on cars all the time testing them.
Overall I think they were very much in favor of the Tesla other than the overheated motor and brake problem.

Yes that's it Top Gear… Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
TG is so s**t now, even when they're not doing some scripted challenge bollocks and supposedly doing a proper review its the same format every time, they’ll start by saying “this is the best car in the world” and at the end of the review they say "but actually its rubbish" or vice versa... I have to watch it coz I love cars just wish they would sort it out,
