I use Google only
thegeek20Feb 12, 2011
Yes me too , because nothing can beat google reliability and ease of search.
Closed AccountFeb 11, 2011
I'm wiling to use the best search going, but Bing has yet to yield significantly good results for any search I've done so far.
karmashockFeb 11, 2011
I keep trying bing but it keeps sending me to the wrong places. Granted... I look for really obscure stuff. But google seems better still.
Maybe I'm not being fair... it's very subjective. But I do try bing every so often because I'd actually like to empower some competition between the search engines. It would be a bad thing if there were JUST google.
thegeek20Feb 12, 2011
That is true it is a common problem with bing, the results on bing are not accurate.
karmashockFeb 12, 2011
I don't know if I'd say that... they're just not as useful to me...
ExplonentialFeb 11, 2011
Weren't they busted copying Google's results?
bigtime2Feb 11, 2011
Maybe Google was copying Bing. We'll never know.
ExplonentialFeb 11, 2011
'cept Google posted fake results to nonsensical queries and then found them appearing on Bing: http://www.zdnet.com/photos/does-bing-copy-google-search-the-evidence-screenshots/6190648
bigtime2Feb 11, 2011
I was being sarcastic. I've read enough articles on the issue.
ExplonentialFeb 11, 2011
Aaargh... WHEN DO WE GET A SARCASM FONT!?

I guess I'd be good if I got to both do my own math AND copy answers from the genius next to me on the ones I didn't know.

Well if a company pays big money for a study I'm sure the study will show what the company wants.
goweigusFeb 11, 2011
and yet the US Federal government never seems very pleased with any of the studies on marijuana it pays for
acentradeFeb 11, 2011
I manage large scale proxy servers and you wouldn't believe the number of people type in google into bing search bar to get to google. It's almost 20% !!
rothgarrFeb 11, 2011
I do like Bing's "Birds-Eye-View" on their maps...
Closed AccountFeb 11, 2011
thanks 2 the smart move by microsoft engineers to just redirect bing search queires to google search and displaying results
bamazombiepunchFeb 11, 2011
Bing still sucks ass.
spinfusorFeb 11, 2011
Google's text search results are better than Bing's.
Bing blows Google away in video search, and I find Bing to be better most of the time in image search, but Google owns text.
An example:
Search for Robert Szeleney on both Google and Bing (he's the guy behind SkyOS). Google's first result is djinnworks.at, the website for his game company. Bing doesn't have the site until page six, where it lists the old URL (iphone-apps.at; one of the domains is masked). Bing's first result is SkyOS (which is no. 2 on Google. The project has been dormant for almost two years).
Robert Szeleney isn't mentioned in text or source anywhere on the site. Google is able to make the connection.
youareretardedFeb 11, 2011
This has been my experience as well. Bing has a much better image search and display page than google. In fact after the last update google did to it's image search I just can't stand using it.
metazareFeb 11, 2011
even i use google all the time...
but i do know google stores your search data for adverts n stuff...
so folks u might wanna switch over to bing and also they even donate money for charity....peace...:DComment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Try scroogle., it's ugly but doesn't save anything:

meh, I'm a google user
clemsontigersFeb 11, 2011
I thought "meh" has been retired?
fxspec06Feb 11, 2011
Google diggs into the cobwebs that other search engines don't. When I search on Google I know I'm digging into the darkest, deepest, most obscure corners of the internet. I don't get that feeling with any other search engine. GOOGLE FTW
dandan111Feb 11, 2011
I like Bing better.
crazedleperFeb 11, 2011
Steve? Steve Ballmer? Is that you? Shouldn't you be off copying someone's idea and implementing it poorly?
AnonanimalFeb 11, 2011
What I hate about bing is how google copied their results format, such as some images showing, some facebook/social media s**t showing, etc.
I much prefer the old google.
rudegarFeb 11, 2011
what, ms got a search engine?
anonimousseFeb 11, 2011
Article is by Matt Rosoff.
Matt Rosoff is Silicon Alley Insider's new West Coast Editor. Prior to joining SAI, he was an analyst for Directions on Microsoft for 10 years.
Hm.. not biased journalism at all.
dustbunny52Feb 11, 2011
I find this very interesting since one of the search methods that Bing uses is to Google the query.
illustrious333Feb 11, 2011
Does microsoft harvest information like google does? Bing needs a better name ! People would use it if it had a better name. They could have called it search or find or digg :-} but nooooooo . . . and what happened to the paper clip thingy?
crazedleperFeb 11, 2011
Bill? Is that you? Shouldn't you be off somewhere ridding the world of poor people by telling them that sterilization is for *their* own good? You're a monster, Bill.
d0x360_Feb 11, 2011
I love google, I love gmail, I love my android phone. I however have no search allegiance and if Bing is producing better results I will use it. Simple as that.
laptopsyFeb 11, 2011
I'm a google user, but it's no surprise that other search engines gain more traffic.
absaysthisFeb 11, 2011
Going even by the Google's logic, if Bing uses it's result and adds to it, Bing would be better. But I would prefer Google still for the doodles.
angrycat70Feb 11, 2011
Accurate for who? In my experience Bing is not nearly as useful as Google.
crazedleperFeb 11, 2011
Mine, too. But, then, I've never used Bing. Ever. As long as there's a Google, I don't see why I should.
bdbrFeb 11, 2011
I really only go to Bing to look at the nice homepage pictures.

I will not even read this story! How DARE they say that!
nickymouseFeb 11, 2011
I use a google 90% of the time, but I do have to say that Bing's travel search is very nice and has saved me a ton on flights.
incidentfluxFeb 11, 2011
I live in the Middle East and would use Bing or Yahoo! Search (yes I know its also Bing) more often if they rolled our encrypted search.
xtomtomxFeb 11, 2011
But somehow, "Bing it" just doesn't seem to have the same flair.
elmuerte17Feb 11, 2011
FTA: "35% of search queries at Google deliver results that are SO BAD that users don't bother to click a single one of them"
... or maybe, those results are so good that the user gets his answer just by reading the accompanying text and doesn't need to go to the page
harryleesmithFeb 11, 2011
Did we just hear about how Bing is stealing Google's results?
crazedleperFeb 11, 2011
Yes, that's why Bill (or Ballmer) shelled out some $$ for this "story".
mebesurferFeb 11, 2011
Bing needs to fix their hideous map service. Google isn't just about search. It's the total package. I can search the name of a restaurant, find out all the information about it, then click images, see pictures of it, then click maps, see traffic around the area, get directions, and even virtually drive to it. Using Bing is like using Windows 95. It just sucks.
caffienemanFeb 11, 2011
meh, I'm bring it back
crazedleperFeb 11, 2011
I couldn't care less how accurate Bing is. We know it's really Google underneath. Death to Mi¢ro$oft.

I like how bing puts the related searches at the top of the page... google repeats its links that are along the top of the page already. I've been using google as my default for many years, I still think that bing has a ways to go if they want to be google (there search looks eerily similar to google; its like someone copying your hand writing) I can understand why google doesn't like what it sees from bing.
sandersdamnitFeb 11, 2011
This article is brought to you by BING!®.
kinserFeb 11, 2011
For me bing has yielded better results than google. I still use google however.
