As a TMobile user, I think I would be ok with this move. All of my friends with Sprint usually have better service than I do.
ageofmasteryMar 10, 2011
Just the opposite here. Much better coverage with T Mobile than Sprint.
chrisvazquez1Mar 10, 2011
As a T-Mobile user I usually have more bars here in Southern California than most Sprint, ATT, or Verizon users. T-Mobile has great West-coast, Southwestern coverage in the U.S. I've travelled to Texas in a car and I had great signal the whole way there.

Whatever happened to market competition?
dagamer34Mar 10, 2011
The two smallest carriers are small enough that they can only compete on price but not phones. A third carrier would have enough clout to get something like the iPhone.
addiktionMar 10, 2011
It hardly exists in the most profitable areas of business. If it was up to a corporation, they would want a monopoly on a market so they can make the most amount of money without any control. Government keeps business in check from abusing the system; obviously not very well, but that is what they are supposed to do.

Going to be tough to merge given they use different tech (CDMA versus GSM).
But maybe we can get some decent and truly world phones out of the deal.
dagamer34Mar 10, 2011
CDMA was going to die anyway.
mikborMar 10, 2011
Don't forget about Nextel, and Wimax network. For some reason I think having to manage 4 incompatible signals is a bad market decision.
popeye9000Mar 10, 2011
Since they both share GSM tech, an AT&T / T-Mobile merger would make more sense.
dagamer34Mar 10, 2011
Never going to happen due to regulations.
doskrautMar 10, 2011
well there goes one more good service down the toilet.as is i just pop in my german sims and use my phone without roaming charges.and yes i get great service, low cost, unlike sprint
goddess1019Mar 10, 2011
I have been extremely happy with my Tmobile service which I have had for more than 10 years. I will be pissed if they merge and I lose my 39.99 a month unlimited everything plan!
jmaximus9Mar 10, 2011
Great less competition.

no iphone no money

This would be great for consumers. Both companies invest heavily in their networks and offer more bang for the buck. If they become the only big player to own a CDMA and GSM network, they'll undercut the s**t out of AT&T and Verizon to get new customers on both.
jimbo92107Mar 10, 2011
Maybe T-Mobile will finally get some decent phones.
gkiltzMar 10, 2011
Makes more sense than did Nextel.
Nextel used a completely different technology.
They also were a company with strong customer service, and well-known weaknesses on the technical side, Sprint was the exact opposite.
investorplacecomMar 10, 2011
There will still be competition. In fact we have more carriers than most other countries.
