Digg, twitter, foursquare, tumble, what else did I miss?

Digg hasn't made one penny. They operate via handouts.
shawn789Dec 26, 2010
No they don't. At first, they were but now they are supported through ad revenue. In any case, Digg isn't making anything compared to Twitter, but they're still making money.

The internet isn't a book, motherf**kers. Enough with the click-clusterf**king lists.

I questions whether the Dog goggles or Topsy Tail have actually made millions. They give no sales figures whatsoever. And many things like this may have a million in revenue, but that is not making millions.

Never underestimate the power of pure luck. With luck on your side, the stupidest idea will make you set for life. Conversely, a lifetime of intelligent decisions and hard work can be undermined by misfortune.

There are always silly ideas they make the world go round.

At least ONE of those things DID turn out to have an unintentional practical use The slinky, back when it was made of metal.
At one time, when the Slinky was made of metal, before the internet, and streaming audio, it was difficult for people who traveled to get news from back home. One way that it was done was to travel with a good, high quality portable AM radio in North America, and a similar portable shortwave radio in the rest of the world.
At the time, portable radios, even high quality ones were well known among radio enthusiasts for poor antennas. In North America, where you were dealing primarily with AM(Known as Mediumwave outside NA) There were several tricks and ways to "Live with it." Shortwave was a different story. You almost always needed some sort of "External" antenna to get decent results. A metal slinky, strung between any two convenient points usually filled the bill amazingly well.

Love the dog in the picture, some guys really think outside of the box.
Here in South Africa we had the vuvuzela and the decor to cover them, they made an impression on everyone and the entrepreneur did pretty well off of his invention by what I heard. That's what you call noisy fun!

See See! This is what I've been saying!! Goofy inventions FTW!!

I think they are not lucky, they just have their unique way of presenting their products and have the strategy on marketing it.
