One benefit could be if internet advertising starts rivaling TV Ads we could see a bigger shift of TV programming on the net.

I already don't watch Youtube videos as much as I used to because of forced mandatory commercials. That was pretty much the only thing it had going for it before in my opinion. It's also really sad when I'm in the middle of reading an article and then a forced ad covers the screen and tries to show me a commercial. I close the link and don't go back to the site ever again.
I'm so jaded from years of pop-ups and outright lies in commercials that I really just can't believe this stuff works on anyone but the very stupid. If I want to know about something I go on the internet to research it. Let me find your product on my own, I'll be much more interested in buying whatever you're trying to sell then.
