Chocolate-covered strawberries:

I did these for Superbowl Sunday. We have a running history in my family with chocolate-covered strawberries from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I thought they might be hard to make, or not as good. But I found some lovely, big strawberries at the store and decided to try it at home.

You need 2 tablespoons of butter-flavored Crisco. You melt it in a double boiler, and then add 16 oz. of Chocolate Chips. We like Nestles.

Of course, you had to have prepared the berries beforehand by washing and drying them. You can do 2 pounds of berries.

Once the chips are melted, I took a toothpicks and stuck them in the berries and dipped in the chocolate.

Place them on wax paper in the fridge to solidify.
