cbsnews.com — Arizona officials allege the banking giant is hindering their investigation into its loan-modification practices. As a condition for offering mortgage relief to Arizona homeowners, Bank of America is allegedly requiring them to refrain from criticizing the company, according to Bloomberg BusinessWeek. That includes making borrowers delete any negative comments they may have made about the banking giant online.

Credit Unions, ftw!
helpingallneedsJan 30, 2012
You are right about that! No bank is a good one :)
publiclurkerJan 30, 2012
there are a few community banks that are at least acceptable. I still prefer a credit union though.
yarozeJan 30, 2012
Until they sell your credit union mortgage to Countrywide, (which is now Bank of America)
Which happened to me!
And then BofA sold me up the River to NationStar (bad bad bad, and should avoid this company at all risks too)

I see the internal memo now... "Urgent B of A Policy Update: If we can't please people with gracious customer service or mutually beneficial terms, then force them to keep their f***ing mouths shut!"
vitriolandangstJan 30, 2012
I just read in my EULA from the bank similar words; "If you have concerns over an abusive policy, you can seek arbitration or keep your mouth shut you ten dollar piss ant. We know exactly how weak and pathetic you are, so don't bother threatening the bank manager because they have no authority to do anything but repeat company policy."
It's a lot of words to merely state; "f**k you at our discretion."

Your new loan comes with this nice piece of duct tape that has a smile drawn on it with a Sharpie.

Obviously, BofA wasn't content with their bottom feeding public appoval ratings. So, they decided to COMPLETELY destroy any shred of reputation thay had left. Is it really any wonder their stock price and business has tanked along with their public reputation? That's what ALWAYS happens when companies violate their customer's trust.
This "double down" stupidity reminds me of what we saw from Conservative circles after their 2008 (and, soon to be, 2012) election drubbing.

I agree with all those who gave positive endorsements to credit unions. I don't know why the average American still sticks with big banks. There are all kinds of competitive options out there that are consumer friendly. All you have to do is have the courage to make the change.

Excuse me but we used to have and belief in Freedom of Speech, a thieve is a thieve. Remedy...go Credit Union!!

BoA - "Pay your bill, or shut up." Excellent customer service.
vitriolandangstJan 30, 2012
We could say the same thing to BoA -- except the "or" part.
"Or not, since you've obviously got pictures of the Senator with a dead hooker or live young boy..."

I stopped using Bank of America when they started charging people to have a savings account. We used to make a little interest on a savings account, but not anymore...the only one making money off of your savings is the Banks...Bank of America for one!
