Using technology in the classroom can only help insofar the teacher/tutor retains some control over the task (or a measure of the pupils' respect). Other than that, it is just a license to update FB during class.

It is a blessing, not a problem. Teachers and schools across the world should be harnessing this era to their advantage. Technology advances and our dependency on technology are parallel. Forecasting advances in 10 years or more, now, would be a good thing to do, especially in the education sector. Forward looking strategic planning is vital as change will only become more and more rapid.
