On the surface it's easy to discount Foursquare as crap, but when you think about it, it has a ton of potential. Businesses frequently hook into it to offer deals, etc. People share thoughts and reviews on the places they go.
It has really good potential to be sort of a live Yelp...and lots of ad dollars to run it.

The value of the company is assessed by how much they sorta kinda could potentially make so long as abc ijk xyz things fall in line. It only costs a couple hundred to incorporate a business that is ON PAPER worth millions even if you don't sell a single product. It's all in "what can be done".

It's worth what people will pay for it, but when you look at the extreme valuations attributed to Facebook and the opportunities for location based services, its not actually that silly a number.

Useless application, at least for me. Social networking is so big these days, its constantly, and I mean every second of the day, used by individuals. Whatever happened to talking to people in person? Maybe the online social networking has caused a decrease in live social interaction.
