bloomberg.com — U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke ’s two-year fight to shield crisis-squeezed banks from the stigma of revealing their public loans protected a lender to local governments in Belgium, a Japanese fishing-cooperative financier and a company part-owned by the Central Bank of Libya.

“What in the world are we doing thinking we can pass out tens of billions of dollars to banks that are overseas?” said Paul, who has advocated abolishing the Fed. “We have problems here at home with people not being able to pay their mortgages, and they’re losing their homes.”

That sentiment is just sentiment.
norman619Apr 2, 2011
And your comment is just stupidity.
bagos1Apr 2, 2011Submitter
I share the sentiment.....I just meant it will take more than that. Everybody is pissed as hell....but I dont see any change....just talking.
bassmastrApr 2, 2011
Anyone else remember all the Europeans talking smack as we went through all this? Not surprised we don't see a single, "Oops we were wrong" or a single "Thanks!"

We, the American tax payer, have been robbed to a degree never before seen in human history.
That is all.
Now go back to your sports, Xboxes, reality TV and celebrity magazines. You will do nothing about this. You either feel overwhelmed by the magnatude of the crisis we face or you are dumb and oblivious and cant begin to understand how completely f#@ked this country is. Either way, you will ignore this and focus on unimportant things. You will probably blame the other team for this problem and that will make you feel better; you will abdicate yourself from any and all responsibility in this matter.
You, your children, your grand children and every generation of yours after that will be paying for this until the end of time UNLESS something is done about it right now.
If you think this has anything to do with republicans and democrats youre crazy. I mean, it does have SOMETHING to do with both parties in so much that both parties suck and are spineless wimps and will do nothing about this.
norman619Apr 2, 2011
Hey! My XBOX is my sanity break.
professorpeakApr 1, 2011
END THE FED. WE ARE ALL SLAVES!
norman619Apr 2, 2011

rjwillickApr 1, 2011
Can there be any doubt that the world is under control of globalist bankers? Conspiracy theory my ass!
professorpeakApr 1, 2011
There is no doubt in my mind. We're being controlled by these EVIL bastards!
professorpeakApr 1, 2011
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like going down to the fed with pitchforks?
psypher1Apr 2, 2011

norman619Apr 2, 2011
f**k the pitchforks. Gas cans, lighters, and guns. Maybe even some strong rope.
yibbutkeenApr 3, 2011
I say you are far too kind. It's time to reinstate hanging, drawing and quartering. I like the idea of seeing the heads of those crooks publicly displayed on posts.
rjwillickApr 1, 2011
Ummm , btw...the Fed IS a group of private foreign banks.
bluto36Apr 1, 2011
so all you America Hating, Obama fans are really happy Now.
this IS the Hope AND the Change you were looking for?
well it is very "progressive" and i am sure America deserved it.
that will teach us.
Good job Obama you keep sticking it to Americans... its why the world loves you
jefftsApr 1, 2011
To be fair, this happened in the Fall of 2008 while Bush was still President. I still, however, am against the bailouts under both administrations and believe, like his predecessor, Obama is sticking it to Americans as you said.
rjwillickApr 1, 2011
agreed!
freeconApr 1, 2011
END THE FED
ferretmanApr 1, 2011
Heh....wow, the wheels are coming off this disaster of an administration even faster than I would have thought!
Obama voters -- sorry yet?
bluto36Apr 1, 2011
naaaa most of them are either retarded or hate America so they are either very happy or drooling
justlisteningApr 1, 2011
Hey, what is the problem? Who would think that we needed the money right here at home for our banks? That would be foolish, especially when our economy is growing in leaps and bounds. Look at how much money the taxpayers are making from that super deal with GM. That deal is going so great that GM is now profitable, and we taxpayers may be making money soon hand over fist. Everything is just rosy/ SARCASM!!!!!! EXCEPT FOR THAT NEW REPORT THAT INDICATES WE HAVE BEEN LIED TO AGAIN, AS THAT GM DEAL WILL COST US TAXPAYERS AS MUCH AS 85 BILLION! The new theme seems to be one good lie deserves another, and another, and another.... when are we going to say "ENOUGH"!
jefftsApr 1, 2011
End the FED!

blacklilyninjaApr 2, 2011
so why isn't the country seizing the assets of the uber rich?
yibbutkeenApr 3, 2011
If you took all of Bill gates wealth, you could run the government for a workweek. That's it.
psypher1Apr 2, 2011
Looking forward to a horrible and disgusting "The Thing" style death to the Federal Reserve.......
gkiltzApr 3, 2011
Just because the bank is foreign-owned, that has no baring on how much money they are in the US economy for.
