Haha I hope she does beat Obama in 2012!
America just gets funnier and funnier...
tbazettNov 21, 2010
PLS PLS PLS let her win the republican nomination hence securing an easy 2nd term for obama.
diggduggjoeNov 21, 2010
Or, giving the Libertarians the best chance ever. Socialist, crackpot or the person representing personal liberty and a limited federal government? The real choices would never be any clearer than that.
That would be a very interesting election. The Libertarian may lose, but we will certainly know where America stands on the issues.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
tbazettNov 21, 2010
Why do you insult libertarians by saying Sarah Palin is one of them?
diggduggjoeNov 21, 2010
I didn't. I offered a list of 3 options, you read it as two.
ScienceTrumpsReligionNov 21, 2010
and why do you label obama a socialist when he is more center than anything?
cite reasons for this label
saying something false over and over and over again does not make it come true
mattbdNov 21, 2010
I've often heard it said by American commentators describing the US political system by comparison with the one we have in the UK that the Democrats are like the Conservative Party and the Republicans are like the Conservative Party.
clvngodessNov 22, 2010
Exactly. Both serving the corporatist deity known as statist capitalism. Obama is not a liberal or progressive by any means. Not even close.... neither are the dems. Not even close.
diggduggjoeNov 21, 2010
Sarah Palin is not libertarian!!! She is the crackpot!!!
See the comma? I gave 3 options. Socialist, crackpot or the liberty minded person. That liberty minded person is unnamed.
I call Obama a socialist for he is. He supports Cap and Tax, single payer government run health care and redistribution of wealth. If you look at his own book he mentioned he sought out Marxists in school. He cabinet is filled with socialists. His spiritual adviser is socialist
Just because he couldn't do everything he wished to doesn't make him a centralist. I am judging him by his apparent beliefs, not the limited execution of them.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
tbazettNov 21, 2010
Ah I see you are taking about some irrelevant hypothetical where a genuine libertarian candidate becomes relevant at all in a presidential election.
diggduggjoeNov 21, 2010
If the choice is Obama and Palin, I think people would actually be interested in a 3rd party more than ever. The biggest problem is the debates. The two parties have a lock on them.
islander2137Nov 21, 2010
Maybe this is what they mean when they say the world is ending in 2012
cyberdactylNov 21, 2010
For democrats, yes indeed.
courtneywestonNov 21, 2010
hahah so true!!!!
CUrules12Nov 21, 2010
I would not mind seeing Palin has president, or at least making a bid.
psypher1Nov 21, 2010
Would you care elaborate as to why?......
CUrules12Nov 21, 2010
I like her Conservative policies. I agree that she is not all there, but I like her ideas. I should rephrase. I would like to see someone like Palin become presidentComment is buried, click here to see the rest.
bdbrNov 21, 2010
Wouldn't it be preferable to elect someone who IS "all there"?
ScienceTrumpsReligionNov 21, 2010
what ideas and policies do you like that are specific to palin?
CUrules12Nov 21, 2010
reply below
ScienceTrumpsReligionNov 21, 2010
"Her overall Conservative policies. Her economic ideas and beliefs. Her moral beliefs are also very sound"
extremely vague
name the economic ideas and beliefs that are specific to her
name the policies that are specific to her
name some moral beliefs that are specific to her
CUrules12Nov 21, 2010
--She opposed the premature health care bill that should have been worked out and written better.
--She opposes abortion
--She supports the NRA and enforcement of the 2nd amendment
--She believes that low taxes for all allow Americans to re invest into the economy
--She supports off shore drilling for the production of oilComment is buried, click here to see the rest.
ScienceTrumpsReligionNov 21, 2010
see the problem with that list is there are many other potential candidates that you can say the exact same about but are much more qualified to be president than palin
oh, premature health care bill? it was debated for almost an entire year and changed drastically from the original plan and those changes that the republicans fought for made it much worse
it was also far from being rammed down anyones throats(i know you didnt say that, but palin does all the time and its looking like you like her thinking)
Closed AccountNov 22, 2010
Wow, to see how superficially your criteria is for handing over power of your entire country to the next candidate is frightening and stomach churning.
She is a compulsive liar, a propagandist, is uneducated, has a history of abusing her power, is quick to anger, is a raging narcissist, but you like her conservative policies..........wow........
Her ideas are absolutely nothing new. They are standard GOP policies. Do you really think off shore drilling is going to do ANYTHING about Americas energy problems? What happens when those wells are empty? Find others? What about when they are empty? What kind of psycho keeps driving closer and closer to the cliff, insisting that they don't need to change direction, they only need to drive faster.
She supports the second amendment? Supports lower taxes? What republican doesn't?
jeffdabatesNov 21, 2010
I wouldn't vote for her if you held a gun to my head.
tim04Nov 21, 2010
Are you kidding me?! You'd rather die than vote in a president that likely won't have much of an effect on you or your family, and will probably be kicked out in 4 years?
If you held a gun to my head, I'd vote for her and then move somewhere else for those 4 years (if I felt so strongly about it).Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
amaoicanNov 21, 2010
"and will probably be kicked out in 4 years?"
If she doesn't quit after 2, that is.
skews13Nov 21, 2010
I don't get why they are so baffled. If the GOP leadership decides not to nominate her, what is the base going to do? Vote Democratic? It's a no brainer. Nominate someone who actually has a chance to win, and let Palin supporters fall in line. Of course they are welcome to cast their vote behind Palin, and insure a second term for Obama. The GOP leadership needs to make it clear once and for all that Palin is only popular with a portion of it's base. Not with the rest of the country.
amaoicanNov 21, 2010
"If the GOP leadership decides not to nominate her, what is the base going to do?"
Let's just say Palin wouldn't be the first politician from Alaska to win a seat without being nominated by either of the major parties. She could run a write-in campaign (and almost certainly lose) or run as a third party, or start her own party (like Ross Perot). The most likely outcome would be that she takes votes from the GOP candidate, giving the race to Obama... but since she makes her money opposing Obama, that might not be such a bad thing for her.
skews13Nov 21, 2010
Well, it is all about her isn't it?
noetichatterNov 21, 2010
Correct. Ever since her appearance out of nowhere, everything she has done has been to make herself famous.
Closed AccountNov 22, 2010
Are you Americans really going to nominate a reality tv star? Do many of you people actually think that she is popular as a political figure just because she is popular on a reality tv show? Maybe you should nominate snooky for president.
Just what the f**k are you Americans smoking? This is f**king sarah palin we're talking about!!! Have you all been so brainwashed by pop culture and tv to believe that all the hype surrounding this psychotic woman indicates she should be president? Sarah palin???? REALLY????
StanPNov 22, 2010
Unfortunately some of the idiots here will do just that. Look at the number of votes that idiot McDonnell got after Palin endorsed her. Palin went WAAAYYY beyond her capabilities when she gave up a career as a truck stop hooker.
psypher1Nov 21, 2010
Wow, the media machine and its infernal brain blanking machines are in full gear to make even more brainless drooling zombies to vote aimlessly, when will it end?
sharpforkNov 21, 2010
"Former half term Governor of Alaska" and the quitting that gave her this title will forever keep her from being Commander in Chief. I think she wants to stay in the news to stay "relevant" so she can get paid big $ to speak, have TV gigs, and sell books. It is a whole bunch easier to go this road and post on facebook and tweet than to actually have to govern anyway.
deathguppieNov 21, 2010
No way, she's going for the gold ring. Theres no mad intelligence going on here, it's just balls to the walls and "you betcha we can win in 2012!"
The fact that she doesn't understand that she is a freak show and not a hero is driving her, and let's face it, there are plenty of nut jobs out there who are ready and willing to make her queen. Not enough to elect her president mind you. But the fact that a disproportionate amount of them are in the Republican party (tea baggers) means there's a good chance she could win the nomination.

People who are as narcissistic as sarah palin and her family rarely think of themselves as the butt of jokes and ridicule. They interpret all the attention as affirmation of their own inflated sense of importance. It's like Kanye West in that south park episode. They just don't get that they are the joke. Their egos can't handle it. You Americans have created a true monster with this one.
cyberdactylNov 21, 2010
Frank Rich has been into the sour grapes again.
itwasonlyajokeNov 21, 2010
Really? REALLY? This woman is still in the news?!
Like Barbara said, she needs to stay IN Alaska. Maybe go view Russia through binoculars from her front porch.
CUrules12Nov 21, 2010
Her overall Conservative policies. Her economic ideas and beliefs. Her moral beliefs are also very sound.
timelessbwNov 21, 2010
Tell me about the details, the parts that go beyond talking points and feel good phrases that appeal to her base. Why do you think her morals are in any way superior to most peoples?
courtneywestonNov 21, 2010
No way. Why is this even an article. She'll be blown out of the water. SHE HAS A REALITY TV SHOW and thinks dinosaurs were here a thousand years ago.

What boggles my mind is what is going through the brain of people who think Sarah Palin is qualified and would make a great president. Do you also think calling the local homeless shelter when your kids needs a heart transplant? And when your SO needs brain-surgery, Joe The Plumber is on top of the list of who you call for help, right?
How can anyone think that this retarded dumbass Palin would be a great president? What the f**k has she done that makes you go "Oh yeah! Sarah is the right choice for USA!"
Closed AccountNov 22, 2010
A significant number of the population of the United States is certifiably retarded. I blame a lack of education and a religious base that is indoctrinated not to question or think but to simply obey. Whether Palin is qualified or not, she opposes abortion, that is enough for many Americans. Hell, they could be ex nazis and get elected as long as they oppose abortion and gay marriage.
courtneywestonNov 21, 2010
pistol palin.
gunny0311Nov 21, 2010
She is the equivalent to talking to a rock, and when she speaks, she is the equivalent of a rock talking to us. Come on America, we've been allowing fools to infiltrate our government. The system is NEVER going to work until WE all learn how to come together as one. Democrat or Republican? This is exactly what they want, Ignorant people who will stand behind a party, and when you do claim A party, you pretty much ignore the needs of all other Americans who do not fit those political interest. Understand one thing, politicians love dumb Americans, this threads topic is about one of them!!
suite307Nov 21, 2010
If she gets into presidency, i can say for sure that she's gonna burn the bridge for other women to ever become a president.
lalongecarabineNov 21, 2010
No way in Hell. I actually like her, she make me laugh, but president? Naw.
rsthivaNov 21, 2010
What a commentary about the level of this country's leadership pool when someone like Sarah Palin could be a candidate for the nation's highest office. Certainly, there must be more qualified people to be offered for our consideration to vote for our Presidency than Sarah?
Closed AccountNov 22, 2010
Oh there are many other perfectly qualified candidates but they aren't "popular" enough. They are too "elitist" though with all their fancy learnin. They aren't goold ol fashioned americans with overalls and a rifle slung over their shoulder and a bible in their front shirt pocket.

Fry: If I were registered to vote, I'd send these clowns a message by staying home on election day and dressing up like a clown.
Turanga Leela: You're not registered?
Fry: Nope. Not vaccinated, either. Besides, it's not like one vote ever made a difference.
Turanga Leela: That's not true. The first robot president won by exactly one vote.
Bender: Ah, yes. John Quincy Adding Machine. He struck a chord with the voters by pledging not to go on a killing spree.
Professor Hubert Farnsworth: But, like most politicians, he promised more than he could deliver.
Here is Sarah Palin’ president web page

Every time I think of Sarah Palin in any elected office the movie 'Idiocracy' immediately comes to mind and I have the horrid picture of all her teabagging followers sitting in barcaloungers, watching her on TV, 'batin' while she blathers on.
feverhostNov 22, 2010
There is no way in hell Palin will be the Republican nominee. They already purposely lost an election, they will not be doing it again.
There is actually a lot of in-fighting going on right now with the Republicans. The Republicans need the "Tea Party", but they want to "control" the Tea Party... not the other way around.
woodsjransomNov 22, 2010
She may reach the top with her base but there are hundreds of millions who don't agree, she can run and garner 10 million votes if that to Obama's 200 million.
willowwolfNov 22, 2010
O, HELL NO!
yellowdogchoirNov 22, 2010
Legion? My name is Legion is what the devil calls himself in the Bible. Not sure if that's appropriate. Mrs. Palin's quote from Mario Andretti is masterful: If you think you go it under control, you're not going fast enough.
swordedgeNov 22, 2010
Sarah Palin is not electable.
abdulnNov 22, 2010
Obama's and demonstrated amateurism should have already proven that it's a bad idea to elect such people.
