Companies that misuse and abuse their employees via Facebook should not be shocked when they themselves find themselves on the end of such treatment.
Because some of them will certainly be on the receiving end.
norman619Jan 31, 2011
How is that? How does one abuse a company via Facebook?
vandaletJan 31, 2011
This story, spreading via Facebook and Digg, right now.
badqatJan 31, 2011
Seems as if creating an "anti" fan page would be the easiest thing to do. Not to mention using FB and other social sharing to troll any company sponsored pages.

As long as they don't lie. Once they lie they will get sued.
norman619Feb 1, 2011
You guys really think people will care?

Way to keep it classy
bobosmitorJan 31, 2011
That is cold.
norman619Jan 31, 2011
You're fired.
honestlyfrankJan 31, 2011
Very unprofessional.

<Company Name> has defreinded you
alanocuJan 31, 2011
Cowards.
They used to call me "The Terminator" at my job many years ago. I had the pleasant job of firing people. It sucked. But the very least an employer should do is to DO IT TO THEIR FACE.
This firing via Facebook is wrong and also should be lawsuit friendly.
KRESHJan 31, 2011
Imagine the face of a hard working employee when he gets all excited about his 1 New Notification symbol only to read:
"You've been fired!"
MarleybonezJan 31, 2011
This is the act of a spineless coward.
technopunditJan 31, 2011
When the chips are on your side of the table, certain advantages apply.
Best response: vandalism.
frozenfabulistJan 31, 2011
I guess the best you can say is that you wouldn't want to work for anyone cowardly enough to behave like this. What an awful way to deal with your employees.
rufiohoJan 31, 2011
That's just ridiculous. Awful.
NewsMeBackJan 31, 2011
Depersonalization. But that doesn't mean company didn't leave you without income. And why should they feel easier when firing. If that's their decision they should be brave enough and tell us in our face.
SuperGenslerJan 31, 2011
I heard about this, sounds kinda fishy.
xromanJan 31, 2011
Damn, that's cowardly. But the article sucks.
singlemom58Jan 31, 2011
A company like that is not worth wasting your time working for anyways.
BruxismcuredJan 31, 2011
Is this really true? They're just using social networks to do what they want? Oh gosh..
racheljtmJan 31, 2011
This is silly!

I'm sure they're breaking some law. first, they're essentially firing a man in front of ALL of his friends and family - basically a public firing. second, facebook isn't exactly certified mail or a phone call. I have a facebook that I never use, so I would never know if someone sent me a message on it. I'd be going into work like usual because I'd never know that I was fired - then I'd get there and find the truth after having wasted my time coming in.
gkiltzFeb 1, 2011
They may not be actually breaking a law, but once the economy recovers, and they have to hire again, nobody worth shooting would ever work there!
gkiltzFeb 1, 2011
If this is real, once the economy recovers, THAT company is going to have a hell of a time getting good people. There are some things that should be done face-to-face!

Nobody has privacy now days. Be careful what you post online, your boss/manager could be watching!
