Bravo indeed. Might as well celebrate the first female dictator or first female corrupt CEO. The IMF is nothing but a vehicle to push policy on poor nations by taking taxes from the poor from rich nations and giving it to the rulers of poor nations. It turns incentives inside out and makes having poor people a good thing and so 3rd world rulers treat the existence of poor people like a farmer would treat his farm. It played a huge part in the recent disaster with Haiti, where Duc was encouraged to turn a society largely agrarian into a cheap manufacturing economy. Cities were packed with jobless ex-farmers and the like and shoddy housing was put up. We all know what happened next. And that is just one example of the economic distortions caused by the IMF.
