I might just start hoarding some coffee beans for all the people I know that cannot survive without it.
beshirthappySep 9, 2010
Thank you! :-)

I've tried to hoard coffee beans, but we drink it so fast it is more like just restocking. It is amazing how quickly you can go through a bag of espresso beans if you drink cappuccino everyday.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I saw a documentary about coffee a few weeks ago. It said that the coffee market is highly volatile. Bad years drive the price up, which drives speculation planting (it takes three years for a plant to produce), which leads to overproduction and drives the cost down.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I got called into a horrible 3 hour meeting on morning and ended up skipping my coffee. I started to feel sick, headache, etc... I thought I was getting the flue or something. Turned out I just needed coffee. I love coffee. The first sip of coffee is like hugging and angel. I am screwed if I can't buy coffee...

Digg employees: Is it time to start sending resumes?
TurdDigglerSep 9, 2010
Would you admit being apart of V4?!? I would just leave a hole in my resume and call it a sabbatical.

I think it is not yet time to hoard coffee beans. It is still very early to do that and I do believe that those responsible will be able to find ways to have enough coffee beans for everybody.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Glad I don't drink coffee.
Give me an energy drink and I'm straight.
cloudberriesSep 9, 2010
Damn straight. Coffee's nasty stuff, I prefer to inject pure adrenaline into my eyeballs
johnlennon2Sep 9, 2010
I'm going to wait and see on this one. I usually stock up on coffee when store prices go down anyway.
joculatorSep 9, 2010
Coffee is sourced from so many countries now I doubt there's a production issue.

I stopped drinking caffeine about 2 weeks ago, just because I was tired of feeling like I needed it to make it through the day. In just this short period of time I've noticed several things:
1. It's much easier to get up in the morning.
2. I don't get agitated near as easily and am generally in a better mood.
3. No anxiety.
4. Better sleep.
5. Don't find myself getting sleepy during the middle of the day.
Avoiding It has also helped me lose a couple of lbs already because I don't drink soda or coffee anymore. I'd recommend trying it if any of the things I listed bother you. Quitting it has made me realize that most of the reasons I liked caffeine were to counter problems that caffeine itself was apparently responsible for.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Every time there is a lower than expected harvest of any product you see stories like this, coffee being a popular one. Yet I have never seen anyone have to resort to hoarding coffee beans. Sensationalistic nonsense.
vavarraSep 9, 2010
At least I have a source for some good Blue Mountain coffee. What's the best way to store coffee anyway?

Coffee is a staple for me. I think that as long as Starbucks exists, we will all have access to the most delicious eye opener :)
