The comments seem basic common sense and apply to all coupons really.

No one ever got rich clipping coupons.

My wife and I have purchased bunches of these vouchers from group buying sites like groupon. I think most of them have been restaurants and have all been pretty good deals.

This makes no sense:
"how do you know if you’re really getting a good deal? The short answer: you don’t. That $20 voucher for the Erotic Exotic Expo in Richmond, Calif., might have sounded like an amazing deal at the time (50% off!), but if you end up not going, you’ve simply ended up $20 poorer–not to mention non the wiser on matters erotic and exotic."
OBVIOUSLY if you buy something and then never use it, it wasn't a good deal. DUH. If you buy something and get it for 50% off the regular price, that is a good deal.

Gotta decide if you would have bought the stuff anyways that the coupons are for.

This is a dumb article. In the end, because you are able to get more for less, Groupons and the like are all good deals.
As a user of these type of deals, the only things I see as a slight problem is that many places won't let you get in on deals with these (IE - there is a pizza place we got a couple of $10 for $20 vouchers at, and they would not let us buy the B1G1 deal with them). But so long as you use them, you are getting better deals than if you didn't purchase them.
Like any pre-purchase deals, if you don't use them, then you wasted your money, but so long as you use them, you are getting a bargain.
