Good, you can actually use flash on the droid
seltaeb4Sep 4, 2010
And you view this as a positive?
geogeerSep 4, 2010
Unfortunately from the reviews, it isn't particularly good.

That's fantastic! Now you can view all that great flash content. /sarcasm

As a fan of both mobile operating systems, it's nice to see the competition to the iphone gaining ground, but the comparison is between 1 phone (+ipad/ipod) and an entire line of phones using Android means that Android is still way behind. As more Android phones are released it's obvious that Android OS will pick up more shares of web usage so this graph doesn't say very much. It's surprising to me that Android isn't dominating the market yet with so many phone options competing against iOS.
mathewriotSep 4, 2010
exactly, try Androids best phone on 1 network against obviously the 1 iphone on 1 network then show me the numbers
philbertSep 4, 2010
Really it's not a comparison of phones, it a comparison of one OS vs. another OS.
mymainmanSep 4, 2010
I see that you get the point.
It is ALL about the OS;es.
The I-phone users seems to be concerned to compete against an open system (like the PC;s open architecture against the Mac;s closed).
Sure you must compare the two OS;es against each other.
The phones are really App-phones, smartphones is just an old term.
But both IOS and Android are great OS;s and you won't go wrong with choosing either of them.
Competition is great!

In the phone market, Android is selling more than iPhone.
This graph shows all iOS devices and that is why iOS is significantly ahead of Android in web usage. Android is only on smartphones right now and smartphones are expensive. iPod Touches, on the other hand, have a one-time cost of $200. Around 120 million iOS devices have been sold to date, and I bet a majority of those are iPods.

I relate a new Apple release like a new Christian Author or Musician's release. Just say it's there and the whole flock will go buy it regardless.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

watch the numbers increase as the disenchanted 3G owners switch. My family will switch 5 iphones for 5 android based phones as soon as our contract is up in February.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

You'll be back.

Or just upgrade to the iPhone 4. Your family will be very unhappy, as my extended family is with their Droids.
schrutefanSep 4, 2010
Did you tell your family this?
thejokkerSep 4, 2010
what made you want to move them all to android phones, and have you decided which to get?
I wish there was an itunes store for android phones. I like the openness of the android, but also like watching video podcasts and tv shows during my morning train commute.

I want Digg 3 back.

I love Google. They are awesome. They wait for Apple to create something and then they just copy it. Brilliant!
onreactSep 4, 2010
Like Apple invented an open source OS for smartphones and Google copied it?
onreactSep 4, 2010
It's not Google vs Apple, it's open source and the rest of the world against a closed system nobody else can use.
redheadwritingSep 4, 2010
As a recent Droid convert from the Apple, all I'm saying is that I can make calls.
mymainmanSep 4, 2010
Looking at the comments, digg is the i-phone OS, reddit is the (more open cooler) android version.
Loads of i-phone lovers here...

I love hoe IOS devices are considered "Mobile web"
How is the iPad a mobile device.... not even close.
