This is seriously wrong and Apple should step in and do something about it.

Excuse me? Apple should do something about it? Foxconn is a Chinese company, so why not let the premier "we want to control everything" government of the world step and do something. Oh wait, they don't give a s**t about human rights.

Actually Foxconn is a taiwanese company. The study is done BY the government and as the article says "the Chinese government may be using the study as a vehicle for disputes with Foxconn's practices."
before posting something so angry.. check your facts. like actually reading the article instead of only the headline and googling Foxconn.

"Apple should step in and do something about it"
It more falls under corporate ethics. They are not bound to do anything. But it would be ethical.
Let the fanboy war begin.

Yeah, let's see how many have faced abuse at non-cool companies run by hicks, Republican supporters and nerds who like Microsoft products. I am sure it will be far more than 95% so lay off the cool companies because they are not as bad and they build cool stuff that people actually want.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

ultimately blame lies on the consumer... for not insisting on american made products (not to sound jingoistic), for allowing corporations to ship manufacturing overseas, & so forth..but if we did, & you thought these gadgets were overpriced & quirky NOW...... :-)

As long as Apple products are shiny enough people don't care for the abuse. The contrary is the case: Apple users will viciously attack me each time I tell them their gadgets are Made in China and have been produced in awful conditions.
